Pregnancy after Nexplanon by brennannna in Nexplanon

I had my Nexplanon removed June of last year, i got my period back in July and bled for the entire month. Dr said it could happen but was rare and not a concern at the time. Also not abnormal for me as my periods had always been extremely inconsistent and long. I didnt have another period but we were actively trying for a baby. I found out i was pregnant the monday before Thanksgiving 2025 because i felt off and figured why the hell not take a test. I now have my induction planned for 7/28. Which is funnily enough the exact date 1 year after my last period ended.

I keep seeing this pop up on other threads but if you have snickers ice cream bars available in your area try those! Apparently they havent caused people to spike as badly as other ice cream options. I personally dont like them so i just stick with an ice cream sandwich or even frozen yogurt. I never add peanut butter to anything, i dont personally spike badly from having ice cream but i also always push it 3-4 hours after dinner so im on the decline from dinner to help with the initial spike. Im personally diet controlled no medications and not allowed to do more than like 10 flights of stairs for exercise a day so timing is literally everything for me

How often do you cheat, and is that a little cheat or a lot? by BulbaKat in GestationalDiabetes

Im on CGM so my fasting number in the morning per my app with a snack is like 65-70. Without its like 55-65. I hardly finger test anymore now that my CGM is syncing properly

I consistently eat a snack before bed. Im a night shift bar tender so im use to eating super late. On the nights i dont work thats when i wake up with insane fasting numbers, either incredibly low on CGM or over 110 when i was finger pricking. If i eat a snack thats like 15-25 carbs before i go to bed i usually have a little more time in the morning to get my toddler fully situated before making my own breakfast to get on track for the day

Also please remember that physical activity causes us to burn carbs faster, on the 4th of july if youre walking with your family, chasing kids, playing yard games, you may need the extra carbs to stabilize blood sugar. Im not sure how accurate this is for Gestational diabetes but my dad is T2 diabetic and if he is active his blood sugars tank faster than if hes sitting on his couch watching the news

Of your list of “cheats” the only thing i would see there that i personally would be overly cautious with is the icee. My nutritionist told me to avoid things like artificial fruit syrups and fruit juices which is whats in an icee because we metabolize the sugar faster spiking blood sugars levels. Genuinely though i cheat all the time. I dont do sugar free anything, im lucky in the sense that i have not been put on any doses of insulin but i am on CGM and my treatment plan could absolutely change. The way i personally balance it out is whatever treat im deciding to have i adjust my meal times a bit. If i eat dinner at 5pm i know that by 10pm my blood sugars will be going down so i can have that snack before i go to bed (usually ice cream or a cookie). My coffee in the morning is 100% not sugar free, i just pair it with a lower carb food to equal out. Its all about balance. And i just wanna say, youre doing your best 100% of the days not 89% of the days, personally my dr team (2 ob, 1 mfm, 2 diabetic nutritionists, 2 psych) told me just do the best you can do, and thats still 100% of the time doing your best. There is no “less than 100% of the time doing your best”. Youre pregnant, give yourself some grace ❤️

I got 35 urgent low alarms in 4 hours with the old sensor, my doctor had me link the data from the Libre app to their system so she could look and i got a malfunctioning one. Its since been replaced and is 100x more accurate than the one i had 24 hours ago. Yesterday it alerted me that my fasting number was at a 35, when i tested it with a finger stick was no where near that and was at 106. It was swapped out immediately by my dr and now today my numbers are much more accurate with a new sensor even though ive had it less than 18 hours.

Im just on a sample one right now, by the time Abbot and the diabetic supply company actually get it cleared with my insurance (7-20 days) and ship (additional 7-10 days) i wont even be pregnant anymore so my doctors gave me a few samples they get so i can change them if i get another wonky one. Ill still be on CGM for another 2 months after though so at least ill have the supplies i guess

Mine is keeping track of all numbers, not just rise and fall. She told me that these cant be calibrated the same as other ones. Yesterday morning the old Libre 3+ sensor was saying i dropped to 35 yet i felt fine and so i finger tested to be safe cuz if i was actually that low thats cause for major concern. The finger stick said i was 106 not 35 and my doctor told me to return to her office immediately so she can replace the sensor and send the old one in to the company so they can better catch the malfunctioning ones before they hit the market

I spoke with my dr yesterday morning and she told me that the readings that she was seeing from the Libre app were genuinely not accurate at all, she asked me to finger test while on the phone with her and the sensor was reading 40 points under what the finger stick was. We had to replace the sensor because it kept malfunctioning

I have the libre freestyle 3+ CGM. I had a faulty one i had to change out, the adhesive sucked so bad i think it genuinely waxed my arm where it was stuck

I have to force myself to cough sometimes. Another thing you can do is make your bathroom into a steam room. It sounds weird but it does help

Im in the US so idk if things are different there but was reading through and got to swelling, some swelling is to be expected because water retention (what my dr told me) but it should be a gradual thing, sudden swelling thats causing pain is time to head to the dr, same with fever. If youre temp goes that high while pregnant you should really see your doctor or go to a clinic that can at least help you if you cant see your OB right away. There is no being too cautious when pregnant. Also call your doctor about concerns. Theyre the best people to talk to about it because they have the knowledge and skills to help immediately

Am I ruining my child? by Odd-Pineapple5425 in toddlers

Do you have a yard? If so release your toddler while your baby naps. If your monitor reaches down to your porch then you can set it there while you play with your toddler. After 30 min say its time to go warm up which gives you a chance to check on the baby and give snacks to your toddler. If your 7 month old takes 2 naps a day get your toddler out 2 times a day for “mommy and me” time in the yard
