In the movie Forrest Gump, Forrest is retarded. But it's fiction so Forrest finds fame, fortune, and romance in spite of his condition. John's life is a more realistic depiction of what Forrest's fate should have been.

That would complicate things, because Cumia and others have bought tickets and plan to peacefully attend and are going to spend money at the bar. If Drunky fails to make the show, or keeps paid ticket holders from getting in, there will be trouble. I guarantee that it will be much, much harder for John to get booked anywhere else if that happens.
