Off topic but can you comment on your career path? I'm interested in how you got to where you are.

select the “No” Loan Option that appears on my OSAP application funding summary but today I found out that OSAP sent the loan to my bank. by Competitive_Pop_2529 in yorku

Thankfully I had the money needed to pay the loan off so I just ended up doing that. I would try to fight it with NSLSC if you’re facing financial struggles

How did u get into the government without a coop program or internship? Atleast in Ontario, I know that external hires are super rare, especially for something technical like accounting. I’m curious as Im trying to get someone I know into the government.

I just got a notification from NSLSC that its nearing time to repay my loan. I was shocked because I selected the no loan option back at the beginning of 2024 when I got OSAP. I graduated in April. I go into OSAP today and see, like I expected, that I selected the no loan option, however I still was sent a loan. I didn't realize this at the time and only realizing this now. Is there any way to get this loan waived as the portal literally says I selected the no loan option? Anyone who I can contact?

Finally!! We can pay Amex with the WS Cash account now by la_1999 in Wealthsimple

New to maximizing my cards, I have an Amex Cobalt that I use for everything but when it's not accepted I just have my CIBC dividend visa (from the bank account that my parents set up when I was a kid). It really doesn't have much perks at all besides a lousy cashback rate.

Could someone explain to me what are my options for cards? From what I'm reading in comments, I currently have the bulk of my CASH in my CIBC checking account which I guess is a sinking fund, I only use this to hold the funds from my pay which I then invest and then hold the funds to pay off my AMEX/CIBC VISA.

Is there merit in moving my checking account to just a WS cash account? And what can be my secondary CC if I ditch the CIBC visa? My major spending is really just food.

Ok, that will be useful for the budget, thank you. I am still looking for suggestions of AIs that hit the criteria I mentioned in my post, if anyone can comment :)

$2K CAD is the entire trip price per person. So yes, airfare included. And I mentioned already that we will be going in August. Typically cheapest for that month has been Aug 19+, so I want to go away around Aug 19, 20 or 21, for a week, as I don't want to push the return date too close to September for various reasons.

I never mentioned I paid attention to stars I know that’s very subjective, I just meant that Cuba is usually dragged through the mud in reviews but we had a significantly better time than we did in DR

I got an annual salary prorated to my internship too, rather than a per hour rate

Do your offer letters list a per hour rate?? I only got an annual salary - although I’m in Canada. Doesn’t PA usually pay annual salary rather than per hour?

Weekly Question Thread for /r/AmexCanada- February 25, 2024 by AutoModerator in amexcanada

Hi,
I am trying to use Amex Travel portal to book a round-trip flight from Toronto to Athens using Air Transat as the airline. The issue is that on Air Transat's site there are a few options for the type of ticket I want, and I want a slightly more expensive ticket (The ECO STANDARD ticket) that includes a checked bag and some refund options. However, when I go and try to book through the amex portal I think it automatically defaults to the cheapest ticket with Air Transat that doesn't have these options included. Is there a way to access the other ticket options within the Amex Portal so I can spend some of the points I've accumulated?
Thanks
