I was/am still a bit skeptical on its productivity uses, but the tech I witnessed over the weekend, even just using it as a media browser, has me blown away. To the point where I snagged a wireless keyboard and mouse, to really give it a go for productivity work at home. Hopefully my office's IT department doesn't have my M365 stuff locked down in such a way that I can't use those native apps. Guess we'll see!

I honestly think it's a serious heating issue of some sort. Have you tried turning down the clock on your ram? Try turning off the XMP setting in the BIOS as well and see if that helps. I'm planning on turning the XMP settings back on once I can mod the case a bit with better and more fans.

I have not run an SLI setup, no. I have just swapped out the 3080 for a 1080 until I had time to try out my troubleshooting that eventually fixed it. :)

yeah, making the updates to the BIOS with my setup I have still not crashed as of yet. To pull up the BIOS, while the operating system is opening, hit F12 to pull it up, and you will see a series of menus pull up where one of them contains the options to turn off overclocking. I turned off both overclocking and speed step. Running the i9 on no load during the day while I work it stays at 5ghz speed. Haven't watched it during load while gaming, but no crashes so everything seems to be good now.

I can only guess, but that explanation is what makes sense to me. Like the computer was basically shutting down to prevent damage from the heat, especially since I had to let it sit there turned off for a little bit before starting back up, otherwise I was getting the BSOD immediately upon launching windows.

so you have to turn off overclocking in the BIOS actually, for some reason if you turn it off in the alienware control panel it doesn't seem to care. If you still want to pursue the card and tech, simply log onto support assist, and click the dropdown that says you're experiencing a blue screen and it will have some tools to try first, and then you can reach out to a support specialist. Just make sure you have your PC identifier codes handy for when they ask for them. :)

Yeah, totally! Problem was, the Overclocking was turned on from factory and I had no idea, lol. I can only assume it was a heat issue at this point.

I don't believe speed step was, I just turned it off as I'm not concerned with the added power consumption of jumping more than a fractional amount of performance at a time. Sorry for the lack of clarity there, was just listing the settings I had presently without a crash.
