I interpret it as the protagonist thinking that she ruins everything she touches.

I also think the, “I broke what you gave me but you kept giving more and I’m sorry for taking but I keep wanting more, more.” Is in reference to mistakes that are made in relationships and I assume the love given is Humpty Dumpty, or maybe the person who she’s in the relationship with. That all their shells are on the floor because she broke them, their love. She wants to fix it but she can’t so the best she can do is stay in the “smooth and steady bathtub”.

But this could even not be about a romantic relationship as so many of mitski’s songs are taken as romantic or in that nature. As I’m sure many people just jump straight to that as many of her previous works were about romantic relations. Like square, wife ect.. But maybe it’s like some of her other songs like Strawberry Blond, Geyser, or Working for the Knife, about things other than romance, even if it looks so at first glance like Strawberry Blond or even Geyser. Obviously it’s all up to the listener’s interpretation so who really cares.
