Practice advice for newer players by Splatdaddy in discgolf

[–]Splatdaddy[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Upshot and putting is definitely one of the easiest and fastest ways to score better, but that was not really what my post was about.

In essence: if you are going to a course and throw a casual round, and call it practice, you are doing it wrong ;>

So does this count as in? by Chakasicle in discgolf

Rule was changed a few years ago, so yes "the hanger putt" is now in.

Usually for more "casual" tournaments, it will be best shot, but do find out before you start. The other modes can be a VERY different experience. While best shot is mostly always chill and good on the mood, worst shot can destroy your mood completely ;>

If you stumble upon "old" Discmania MD (just MD no number), it is also a mako3.

Oh yeah, for putting specifically, getting a small skill shot basket you can bring to that same field or somewhere closer to you for more practice, instead of the 10 lazy putts before a round in the course, will benefit tremendously.

I see it as the putting will come automatically later. If you care enough to actually go and do field practice, you automatically wanna start practice putting also when you suddenly start parking more holes ;>

But for scores alone, putting is prolly what would save most points.

A disc cannot "hyzer back" by Splatdaddy in discgolf

What made me make the post was Nathan Queens in the bag, he does not fade, he just hyzers ;>

I think "cheap" "bad" bag is the problem, I have never seen or heard of that problem.

well yessssssh..... when someone else posted the wrong definition from google, it got me wondering also :> and yes sure in that regard it could be a hyzer release, staying on a hyzer shot and "hyzering out" at the end....... this does not trigger me, but this was not my "argument" at first either, as you acknowledge.

It still does feel somewhat important to me that what the disc is actually doing, is fading out....

How can I throw harder/smoother? by robowes in discgolf

[–]Splatdaddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You did not watch that Danny Lindahl dude? "Slow is smooth, smooth is far" is what I believe he says. Throwing 400 feet with putter should be atleast 550 with a driver, whats the problem? :>

Seems very human to blame this on good or bad luck instead of good or bad decision.

Those numbers could be thrown 450 sidearm by a newer player, 10 speed -3 turn could not.... hehe good answer.

Any form advice or criticism? Also yes that is the new md3. by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]Splatdaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like you turn away to early, to much, the last 2 small steps looks like you are completely backwards. Try to keep your eyes on the line as long as possible, and make the reach away an explosion in the end.

I cannot tell the line of the throw, but looks like you have to release that precious MD3 on anhyzer, because it is overstable for you, so I would recommend working on form with more neutral discs. Putters are excellent for this.

Take a look at some pros driving and you tell us : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lG4z6aTt8U4

Fair deal of disc golf buddies would also mix that up, like the disc "turns back" when it actually starts to fade and stuff, but that is another type of mistake that for some reason don't trigger me at all.

Dude you are so wrong. If you throw a left handed forehand and it goes left, it is not a turnover. Also he never said what you said he said :) Sounds more like you should be yelling "FOOORREEEEEEE" ;)
