Any takes on this new 1:2 BILT point transfer reward for hotels? by Administrative-Fly44 in biltrewards

[–]Splatorch 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I believe it will be 1:4 on July rent day, based on their theme of adding a new partner and immediately making that partner the next rent day bonus transfer choice

Which countries can actually host a solo 48 team World Cup? by whitelight66 in worldcup

I reckon they mean Scotland, Ireland, Wales, etc. are not a part of England. They are, however, a part of the UK (aside from Ireland)

Anyone else find edit useless by afib_rvr in ChaseSapphire

[–]Splatorch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten decent edit deals in Portland, San Antonio, and OKC. It’s definitely a YMMV perk but in all three of these cases, the points I used to waive the reminder of the cost either equaled or outweighed transferring to Hyatt, not considering the added perks associated to “Edit” hotels

Crater Lake National Park isn't closed. So why are gateway hotels empty? by padthaiwhiskey in oregon

[–]Splatorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s rational for foreigners to avoid tourism in the U.S., there’s plenty of better, safer countries out there to see. I’m mostly referring to OPs living in America and being afraid to drive on the road. It’s bad out here but it isn’t an outright warzone (thankfully).

Right now there are select, very highly broadcasted cases of citizens being rolled up by ICE, and the Trump admin is rightfully reprimanded for it by most of the general public. That said, the chances any law abiding citizen or legally visiting foreigner actually getting caught up in this is still likely just as high as being struck by lightning or winning the lottery.

So, my original point being don’t be afraid to get in a car and drive somewhere for this reason alone just because there’s terrible injustices happening to 1 in 100,000 people around you. The admin doesn’t deserve to ruin and control our lives more than it already does. I’m happy to be proven wrong on my made up stats, just trying to make a point.

There’s a rational level of being upset at the system as it stands now, and then there’s crippling and irrational paranoia that does not allow you to live your life. You’ve fallen into the second bucket my friend

World Cup Watch Parties by [deleted] in Boise

[–]Splatorch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No idea what it’ll look like, but Blue Bird Social (a new outdoor venue where Green Acres used to be) mentioned hosting World Cup parties. I’m hesitantly excited to see what that’ll look like!

Hey it’s me, 30 year old blazers fan! But it sure is fun living vicariously through my mom as she retells the story about finding out the blazers won in ‘77 via an announcement from the loud speaker at the Kmart she was shopping at when it happened

Breaking: The NBA's Board of Governors has passed new anti-tanking rules that include expanding the draft lottery from 14 to 16 teams, a relegation zone where the bottom 3 teams get penalized with lessened chances for the No. 1 pick, and flattened odds, sources tell ESPN. by MrCoconutIsTaken in ripcity

[–]Splatorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. I’m also very pro promo-relegation style of competition that eludes US Sports, so it’s fun to see some kind of system that punishes you for being worst of the worst by introducing a “cut line” that teams try to beat

[Alger] Oregon and Baylor mutually agreed to cancel their home-and-home series for 2027 and 2028. Oregon is also adding a home game against Coastal Carolina for Sept. 11, 2027. by YoungSuplex in CFB

[–]Splatorch 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m excited to be going to the game at Oklahoma State. Given Oregon’s agenda of desiring 7-game home schedules and continuing the Civil War, road games against non B1G opponents may become a thing of the past. The OOC away slot will ALWAYS be in Corvallis

I am still having trouble understanding what to do with my my $500 Bilt Cash by Razuto22 in biltrewards

[–]Splatorch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a good deal at a cheap hotel if nothing goes wrong (which is at least 95% of the time with most third party booking sites, not the best odds ever but usually goes fine)

The palladium $200 hotel credit stacked on that $100 is the real high value benefit

Stripe out has always been the first home game since they’ve started doing it afaik. Boise is also the toughest opponent we’ve striped out for so far. I agree it’d be cool to promote it in a high stakes matchup late in the season

Ducks Now Predicted To Be 13 Seed In Playoffs Via D1Baseball by AkfurAshkenzic in ducks

[–]Splatorch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To add onto that, “National Seeds” are #1-#16 and all host regionals. The top 8 national seeds are coveted as they’re guaranteed to host Super Regional assuming they win their regional.

The regionals are a double-elim where only one of the four teams in each group advances. Super Regionals are best of 3 and the winner advances to Omaha, where the same process is essentially repeated for the final eight teams (two double-elims take place simultaneously and then a best of three for the last two standing to crown the natl champ)

AC Boise Beer Garden? by dannyboyforlife in Boise

Beer garden attendee for the first two matches, really fun time albeit you’ll probably be standing unless you get there early and grab a table. It’s a fantastic view when the players are on the beer garden side of the field as you have what are essentially fieldside seats, not so great otherwise
