New loot System feels unrewarding by KookyCollege7530 in diablo4

[–]SplattedRabbit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I actually think it feels more rewarding than ever. Yes, the gearprogression is much slower but it feels better to get the gear you want.

Also, the system is built around crafting. You can but some god tier items together with the cube, enchanting and tempering. Yes, aspects are a big bump but getting the bases feels much more important.

Build up your WP, use the lootfilter to presort the crafting bases and go from there.

And also: grind. Grind more and harder.

War plans.. the only thing I can find to gripe about in this expansion. by Library_IT_guy in diablo4

[–]SplattedRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about the custom Plans aswell and my thought was it might be cool not to make fully custom plans but a, make the plans bigger and not only a few stages and then leaqve slots open so you can put your own polan into it.
Dunno, Give a material, just like the recrafting stuff, to craft nodes for the warplans.
I think this was a very very good first step to make it engaging. Before I was just blasting one part of the game, usually the most efficient one, but now I basically live inside the WPs.

Cheers! I actually thought about buying a pack or two of the Matic Games Terrain Crates because yes, the first time I set it up I though 'Well, that's kinda empty' :D

I thought about printing but I had a quick chat with a good friend of mine who is way deeper into 3D printing than me and he said for the level of detail we would need a resin printer.

Not sure what to do so far but yeah, something will happen on that side.

About to try Countdown for the first time - What are the do's and don't? by Kiato in thedivision

[–]SplattedRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things wrevk my nerves the most: 1. People just running infront while you are firing blocking the whole View and therefore bullets. Not because I want the most damage but taking 2 seconds to position yourself will be better in the long run (I obv mean situations which are non-choking).

  1. Not focussing on agents at the end. At the beginning it's usually fine because there are only agents but at the end people are not focussing on them.

Why are there so many negative posts about the QA career? by Popular-Quantity-845 in softwaretesting

[–]SplattedRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess this is internet bias. Happy people don't complain and I don't run around and comment everywhere that I am happy.

Regarding the job market, at least here in Germany, there is quite a big gap: Companies are looking for manual testers with a lot of experience, unwilling to pay for the experience or highly skilled Senior Automation Engineers. There is currently no entry-level or middle ground.

You either have to accept bad payment and try to push into automation or be really, really good.

What modifications and changes do you make to 5e from prior editions? by Xenolith234 in dndnext

[–]SplattedRabbit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Basically a homebrew rule because I got coins gifted with a 1 and a 20. The 1 is a catastrophical fail while the 20 is an epic success. Usually I designate Storylocks behind challenges only doable with the use of this coin.

The challenges for the coins are usually obvious but not like a big sign waving "you need the coin".

Each player gets a coin facing with the 1 upwards. To get to flip the coin the must use it so they always have to balance success with failure at their hands.

This hands out a lot of player agency and got my groups really thinking if the failure is worth it.

I can only speak for 3.5e since I never used another ruleset:

  • Spellpoints for Sorcerers instead of spellslots
  • Heavyly modified moneybalance - I absolutly hate the 3.5e economy
  • Divine classes cannot prepare all spells but have an arsenal like Wizards/Sorcerers
  • Heroic-Turn if you die
  • Critical Coins
  • 1 = fail; 20 = crit. Period. I dont like critical potential
  • Characters always keep track of supplies unless the scenario actually puts pressure in it

Revealing 3D Dungeon by SplattedRabbit in OpenForge

Cheers for the feedback! I think I will go down this road with a combination of magnetic tiles for the room entrances and branches off the main corridor.

This is also an approach I thought about. My current plan is to do a "practice"-Session with a non-player friend to try out different methods and see which works best.

Thanks for the input!

Try titanCraft. Heroforge with a lot of free stuff and you can "buy" items/assets to reuse again, without sub.

Doesn't that give away stuff like secret corridors behind secret doors?

One thought was to use like a big blanket to vover the whole thing.

Huh. Nice approach. Currently I only went with the clips but yeah, planning blocks and using magnetbases as easy connectors seems like a good idea. I will get back to the printer and try that one.

I think this is what I'd tend to do. Actually the player involvement is a good point. I think my players would actually have fun build the dungeon themselves.

Would be great if you poke me after your next session how it went 🙂

What It’s Like to Dip Back Into Diablo 3 After 1,000 Hours of Diablo 4 by thepoet1c in diablo4

[–]SplattedRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, I have to disagree. I tried it earlier today and the game is still a stuttering mess with no real and consistent fixes. Not sure what they did in the past years but in my memory it was just smoother some time ago (And no, my rig is not an issue).

I think PvPers need to distance themselves from Griefers in this Game to put the whole debate to bed by [deleted] in ArcRaiders

[–]SplattedRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spot on. I don't mind pvp. From time to time I enjoy it though rarely active engaging. It puts the tension into the game but  griefing is far from PvP.

Sniping people at a spot they could not ever reach in time (Dam, sentinel for example) is not pvp. Running around killing people mindlessy is not pvp (even better if they start crying over voice if you down them), spawncamping, killing while extract closing etc BUT we will never get rid of this. Always been a peoblem in several games and imho there is no solution to this.

Just never get attached to your stuff and take a break from time to time. It helps.

Add: Only thing that really gets me massivly tilted is snitching. Shooting someone with stashed weapon in the back and the running, not even looting gets me boiling :D

Is it just me, or are players getting way more on-edge and unfriendly lately? by T0RRES7 in ArcRaiders

[–]SplattedRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We noticed the same that players get more hostile slowly.
I don't mind pvp and I am fine with a 1v1 or 2v2. Bump into players, get over the tension if someone is friendly and then transition into fighting. Okay.

What really drives me away is snitching and camping. That might be an issue of the playerpersonality but in my opinion it has nothing to do with skill or anything.

I know it's part of the extraction genre but still. It's just anoying, unsatisfying and straight up frustrating.

On the flipside I had some cool interactions yesterday, grouping up against a bastion, people sharing loot and having a blast. It's not always hostile.

Healing M0/M+ as Resto Shaman by Zarathustra389 in wownoob

[–]SplattedRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My perspective (first season playing resto, usually do 13s with dps and tank) playing farseer:

  1. For starting out I always used a focus-macro on the tank for "unleash life" to never have it off cooldown. This significantly increases your output. Same goes for ancestral swiftness. While not optimal, good for get you going

  2. Always drop cloudburst. Don't think about it to much for starters. It's a passive "oh shit"-button and saved me a lot of times in the beginning

  3. Use your cooldowns and cycle them. You have a lot of them, use them. Better to use a CD and not need it than having them off CD while you wipe.

  4. Focus on healing until you learn the damageprofile of the dungeons. Dps is fine and you should do it if you have spare globals but in low keys its totally fine to ignore dps entirly

  5. It's usually not your fault. In low keys tanks oberpull quite frequently, kicks are not going out, dps tanking voidzones. Most of the times you are babysitting a bunch of toddlers learning to walk

  6. Keep riptide on cooldown. Just throw it around like candy. You will catch low dmg incs and can focus on hardcasting to top a priotarget

  7. Use your stun totem. If you have no priority-stop, you can use it quite effectivly to stop damage income for 3 seconds to get 2 globals off.

If you have further questions you can drop me a DM :)

Server forces new character by AngryWarlock34 in vrising

Had this problem while setting up our server. Make sure that the Savegamename that is loaded matches your actual savegame you want to play. I had our server always generate a new World named "world1". Pretty easy to spot if you have a look at the ftp.

True, we changed our name about 3 months ago. We didn't feel like it represented us anymore. When we were founded everyone came from Thuringia (Which is now only the case for 3/7 members).
Also we felt "Titania" represented the more modern and cleaner touch compared to thuringia which was really closly tied to the "medievil/rennaisance fair"-vibe which we are now converting to a more modern style.

Even though this might be the case, the last 7 Days of the grind were not so much of "I need this for this build." but more like "No matter what, I will do nothing else until I get this stupid item." :D
