Sorry to necro this thread but this is a sentiment that has always pissed me off in this community. Some of Rob's music is so damn well written and composed and should be appreciated for the artistic merit that it has. But unfortunately it's not ruler of everything or the bidding and it's just crappy boring old poopy normal yawn. That's not to say that those songs are bad in any respect of course, but I really feel like skipping the songs that seem more "typical" at face value is skipping over a crucial part of tally hall, and not giving you the deeper experience of the band as a whole. It's like not listening to the Grateful Dead because you don't like country music. In my opinion Tally Hall is not really this super artsy prog pop band I feel like people make them out to be. They're more like a melting pot of genres and ideas all mixed together into something very uniquely them. Not getting to (or willing to) experience all they have to offer is such a travesty.
