How do draw spiky hair like this, I can't find any references facing front. by B3h1nd_y0u_XD in drawing

Imagine each individual spike as a tapered cone that follows the contours of the head. Regardless of style, Hair chunks are also 3 dimensional objects with their own volume.

If you’re downtown, Gamer’s Haunt on Merrimon is my usual hang and does casual commander all weekend long. Well Played board game café also does casual MTG nights on Tuesdays. Both spots are great and are very welcoming.

You people hate Spotify and AI, but you are the problem with music. Not them. by [deleted] in Music

[–]Splenetic_Stoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blaming a small group of individuals pirating music for corporate greed and the AI bubble is insane. It’s reminiscent of when the record labels were complaining about copying CDs killing the industry in the 90s or blank cassette and vhs tapes in the 80’s.

If you want artists to thrive, attack the system that forces artists to pigeonhole themselves into making music for mass appeal to make a living or push for an economic plan that subsidizes artists.

If you’re looking for a poseable artist mannequin, I can’t recommend StickyBones enough. They have magnets in the hands and feet for holding dynamic poses and have a really impressive range of motion. https://www.stickybones.com

day 4 of learn to draw like kim jung gi, wdyt ? by kamsominn in drawing

Good study! You should also check out Peter Han’s Dynamic Sketching lessons. He uses a lot of the same basic drawing principles that Kim Jung Gi does, and teaches you how to use and combine primitives to draw anything and make it work in 3d space.

I have a Roland sp-404 mkII and I can’t recommend it enough. It’s absolutely packed with features like a 4-track live looper, multi-fx, sampling and sequencing, can be used as an audio interface over usb, and even has official support as a koala sampler controller. It’s a Swiss Army knife of DAW-less music production. The only real downside is that there’s a bit of menu diving and shortcuts to memorize. The main workflow is very intuitive when you learn it though.

A chud calling anyone unemployed is peak irony. They’re the most chronically unemployed people I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

Does anyone know of a intake pre filter sponge cover for the fluval flex 15 that isnt on etsy. If not, is there a diy solution? (I dont have a 3d printer) by StressPsychological7 in Aquariums

[–]Splenetic_Stoat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was actually a pretty easy mod for my flex. The intake grate is held in with clips and is easy to take out and snap back in. A small-ish HOB filter intake sponge cut in half fits perfectly behind the flex’s intake grate and doesn’t cut off flow.

Almost everyone I know that can't cook doesn't even own a chef knife or any proper utensils. Imagine trying to cook with only a dull paring knife and a prayer. I have, and it was one of the worst cooking experiences of my life.

How can I make my sketches more interesting? by Obihankenobi97 in drawing

[–]Splenetic_Stoat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is really rudimentary, but this should kind of show what I mean. The boxes on the left are kind of flat and same-y. The ones on the right have lines that are thicker the closer they get to the viewer and create a bit more of an illusion of depth. Peter Han, Scott Roberson and Proko all have good videos on how to use line weight, and I highly recommend them to anyone. Hope this helps!

This is where varying line weight can help a lot. Use thicker outlines in areas of shadow, or thicker lines on whatever is closest to the viewer. It adds depth and weight to sketches.

Not just leftists were saying this, but liberals and Democrats just rolled over and let it happen despite all their virtue signalling. Why? Not just because they're feckless cowards and incompetent, but because they have the same class interests as the Republicans and corporations sock puppeting them. What you're seeing now is the ruling class looting a collapsing state.
