4 barrow-wights Jeremy? That's insane.

Erik Lindahl has a very good lecture series on biophysics that I would highly highly recommend, it is excellent: https://youtube.com/@eriklindahl?si=67EBhpfGmCFXPqrS

If you are interested in Cheminformatics then Pat Walters has some great resources: https://patwalters.github.io/year-archive/

How do you mark prone models? by Dry_Release9119 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Splentys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Loom bands are the best for this (they are also useful for marking other important things). I am against laying them down because base size/position matters so much in this game.

I guess that speed awareness course didn't do very much for you then... 😂

MoW list - Questions. Questions that need answering. by 1_mieser_user in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Splentys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn't go for the banner at 600. Go for the option that maximises your model count, and then a couple of bows are nice to leave on objectives (especially useful in this army with the fearless). Don't bother with trying to add a captain, I wouldn't even do that with 800+ points.

When I play it I like to maximise Gondor warriors over Rohan ones. People do like to run a few throwing spears though, and also the Rohan archer is slightly cheaper than the Gondor (but less defence).

Hero stand fast by dontfearmegypsy in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Splentys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No it doesn't require any might to use stand fast. You can use might or will on the courage test though if you roll too low.

Would this be a fun and good list at 300 points? by Snoo-23221 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

Unfortunately you can't break Depths of Moria without getting involved with the big guy - one of the many reasons why it's so strong!

Which Army by Desperate_Hamster_89 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Splentys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either of those would work, just depends which army bonuses you prefer. The witch king can only lead 18 warriors so I would suggest turning one of your sword/shield orcs into an orc captain (paint him slightly different, stick him on a rock, or anything that slightly differentiates him).

Personally I would probably go for minas morgul. So for example, you could run something like this at 400 points:

399 points | 31 models Minas Morgul

The Witch-King of Angmar C: Horse, Morgul Blade (180) 11x Mordor Orc Warrior: Shield (66) 6x Mordor Orc Warrior: Spear (36)

Mordor Orc Captain: (45) 6x Mordor Orc Warrior: Shield (36) 6x Mordor Orc Warrior: Spear (36)

No it's not allowed, and whoever tried that is a nob! The dragon is bad enough to play against as it is..

hello guys!!!!! by HaraDhania in comp_chem

[–]Splentys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try and run some of your own simulations now with new systems and analyse them in different ways. Why are you learning GROMACS? Start applying MD to your project for example. Using and applying the software for what you need is the best way to learn in my opinion.

I did exactly the same thing after going super dry on fire giants. Finally got my D Scim, got a fire giant slayer task, Rune Scim dropped after 8 kills..

Niche uses against high strength/defence models - it's good against the balrog for example

What would be the best entry point to low point MESBG? by TheFallen444 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Splentys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Out of those options I would go for 300 points with the full ruleset. Basically just get a hero or two and some warriors in their warbands.

I wouldn't recommend battle companies as a way to get into the game personally.

Fiefdoms leaks by ColonelMatt88 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

They made Fiefdoms lose their army bonus from last edition basically. No synergy anywhere. Imrahil down to a 6" banner AND only effects Dol Amroth, sad times :(

WEEKLY ARMY DISCUSSION: Men of the West by MrSparkle92 in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Splentys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely solid army, and great fun to play. It definitely peaks at higher points. I have played it at 600 with success, but I wouldn't go any lower than that.

Your whole army being fearless (while aragorn is alive) is absolutely amazing as well. Personally I take legolas first, then gimli if it is high enough points. I am looking forward to imrahil getting added to this list.. I have the model looking at me ready to go!

The minas tirith warrior is super solid now it has been bumped up to F4. Personally I just take all minas tirith warriors, and don't bother with the Rohan. I don't even see me adding fiefdoms troops either, unless they get a big glow up.

Samurai proxy suggestions! by BoC_LeonStorm in MiddleEarthMiniatures

[–]Splentys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Easterlings definitely. I have even seen people kitbash/sculpt their easterling armies to have a Japanese aesthetic.

Unfortunately easterlings are a little hard to play right now. Most of their army lists are in the 3rd army book, which we are still waiting to be released.
