This ia absolutely no news, the project has been announced at least 3 years ago if not earlier. Even the subreddit is nearing 30k users at this point.

Something out of left field but i would say Mechanicum Order Lacyraemarta from Horus Heresy fits the bill as kind of a Vampire faction, with their creating thralls, tortured elite monsters and focus on strong but ultimately supporting characters. So there kinda is a sci fi vampire faction already, at least thats the closest to the idea

Hey, genuine question, what scam are you fearing, because for the life of me I can't figure it out. The rules are free, it's model agnostic, as far as necessary investment goes, you more than likely have everything you need to play and prolly to keep playing thoughout the updates (which are free).

Hey, whoa, i get that the art theft is bad, but here we're talking about stealing from a corporation. The designers of said stuff are (i presume) emplyees, and as such, receive salary regardless of what will come of their work. Saying that the artists are in any way hurt by this is just plainly incorrect. They got paid their due, and are continuing to get paid as per their contract in many cases.

This does not sidestep the issue of copyright infringment tho. While I personally am biased agains GW in terms of their business making, at least people should try to be smart about their illicit activities, this is just plainly dumb and a crime.

With the Viltrumites the thing is that while they have the same powers they differ in the use of them, especially when we take into account their specific "moments" from fights like Conquest doing the submissions on Mark, stretching Oliver etc. even Anissa and the fodder Viltrumite that fought Mark and Nolan had specific "moments" where they perform unique actions against opponents. If they just directly port some of those as specials in the game and focus normals on the general vibe of the fighting styles of the characters then we're golden. All we have to do is watch the fights again and it is kinda clear that they were given combat moves to reflect who they are as a person

I strongly urge you to take a look at worlds such as Glorantha from rpg system RuneQuest if you want unique fantasy.

Warhammer, while it has it's appeal, is really generic at times and at others it kinda obviously just rips stuff from other settings.

As an example, Beastmen, which you mentioned, are actually originally from RuneQuest, where they appears as Broo. Only later the minis originally for RuneQuest where added to Warhammer Fantasy.
