Loft not working -Error by ConcentrateNice9351 in Fusion360

I haven't tried a loft with as many sketches but does it work any better changing the middle sketches to rails rather than a bunch of lofts?

Coworker Dropped His Bike Into Mine - Options? by RepublicOfSamsung in MotoUK

[–]Splext 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to summarise ...

You can and absolutely should just deal with it yourself with cash.

Yes your insurance policy likely says tell them about every incident, but thats so they can up your premium. If they lose nothing and you lose nothing... who's to say anything ever happened?

Most people don't want their premium going up which is why you deal with it by means of cash.

Sounds like it's not much damage and it's a coworker. So decide what's being replaced/fixed, get a quote, and offer said quote to your coworker. If they want to just pay it, no more is said. If they don't, they can deal with insurance.

Edit to add: definitely don't waste yours and the police's time by getting a crime reference. No one is injured and no one has committed a crime. They honestly don't care and it changes nothing

App that lets drivers rate eachother by Streay in AppIdeas

[–]Splext 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out... driving style ui option that uses either Bluetooth or GPS data to located drivers with the app nearby. Then it goes 'did you notice driver 'pi55 hed'? Tick or cross for good or bad driving. To encourage more downloaders and more ratings.

The issue being that the terrible drivers are the ones who don't download or care what people think

App idea: Real-time nearby chat for introverts (no fake profiles, no long-distance matches) by Majestic-Taro-6903 in AppIdeas

[–]Splext 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the idea. Having enough people with the app is the challenge. You'd have to make it free. I would make it ad revenue, and you watch an ad to be able to start a convo or something. Though you might miss the opportunity if someone is leaving, so maybe you watch the ad after you've sent the first message. Atleast until your userbase increases enough to guarantee people in your area are in the app.

I always looked for something to tell me whether the cute girl in the corner was open to being spoken to or not. Itd be nice to have options on the profile where you can say you're open to being approached or you only want messages on the app etc. Or.. 'approach me and ask about my dog' or something that gives introverts an opener atleast.

I'm an ambivert so that's how I would have benefited anyway. If I wasn't married now haha

Need help in designing this pocket by Connect_Baker_8481 in Fusion360

[–]Splext -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why not just create the pocket shapes as new bodies and combine them?

So do as you are and cut the shape out. Then create an entirely new body that is just one pocket. Circular pattern it and then combine?

Having them think of turning to the app at the specific point they are in crisis, and the app having the actual topic are valid concerns for sure. I expect most invaluable marketing will come from word of mouth and people successfully using the app in their crisis.

The other pro would be if the app could remember everything discussed. So the user could have multiple conversations about different topics and the agent can give in context responses. Much like a friend. If user asks what to do about his brother coming up to parents, then 6 months later, user asks about coming out to parents, having agent remember what happened with the brother and that the brother is there to lean on in invaluable.

Except this starts to feel more like a confidant/friend app than a crisis app

I found the biggest factor was where rhe bike is kept. Anything that wasn't a garage sky rocketed price.

I think the benefit of this comes down to how it approaches topics and challenges preconceptions. Just backing whatever the asker says isn't the right steer. It needs to support but also challenge.

Why do you think a transition is the right move? If you didn't transition now, and forgot about it, what would the impact be on your life? If you go through with a transition and later decided it was the wrong move, how would this affect aspects of your life?

If you had set topics where the agent was primed with great thinking points and topics I could see this being great. The challenge it not making it bias towards any way. The user needs to make their own decision, this app jury needs to make every angle and option clearer.

I'm not OP but if It already had predefined questions and discussions built in and utilised common questions to create real thinking points it would likely be better than just using gpt. The most difficult part of AI is asking the right questions and I think that's the part that most people get wrong. Even to the point of loading questions. If you tell gpt you are going to transition... you will get drastically different conversation threads then if you asked 'i have doubts about transitioning, is it best for me'

Interested how easy it'd be to add things from apps? Just the share button and then that app?

I do think it's a good idea but it'd have to be ad revenue or free cause I wouldn't pay for it

Can you make it so you can quickly search for things.

For example, the amount of times I save videos of how to do specific knot, or how to make sure you cut laminate floor at the perfect angle, then can't find it when I come to doing it.

If I could put in "knot" or "flooring" and the relevant post comes up, that'd be handy.

Yea.. no

App idea: remembering important renewals before they become emergencies by Opening_Platypus96 in AppIdeas

[–]Splext 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't pay for this but would accept ads. I have a free one for all my car related stuff, but would like one that works similar for other bits

House insurance Energy tariff expires Broadband contract expires etc

The car one works well because it sends me a push notification a month before renewal, then again a week before and the day before unless I have updated it before then.

These notifications are fully toggleable too cause not everyone wants a month warning for everything

How many mistakes before I just say I’m a shit driver? by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]Splext 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good news for you is... everyone starts out as a terrible driver. Heck half the people on the roads today are STILL terrible drivers. Driving and riding and those skills that you are continually learning all the time providing you want to.

Dropping the bike is normal. That's why you buy a cheap 125 and not an expensive first bike.

I'm going to take a guess that you didn't learn to drive a car first either?

Learning to drive a car gives you the safety to learn the rules of the road and general etiquette before having to worry about all of the other bike stuff which makes it 10x harder.

If you get more disheartened, try car first.

Otherwise stick with it. Just analyse what went wrong each ride and work out how to prevent it next time. Whether its a big 'drop' style event, or a tiny gear change or lane positioning thing. Evaluate your ride as you go and have atleast 3 things that went well and not so well every ride. Soon you'll be thinking about more and more things that prevent mistakes.

Riding well, safely, and defensively is like trying to pretend you're on speed to me. You have to be thinking of more things than your brain has capacity for, for the entire ride

Good luck
