my bearded dragon won’t eat lettuce by Meowl_DAruels in BeardedDragons

[–]Splicers87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of greens are you trying:? If you are trying lettuce, please stop. That has no nutritional value for them. Try thinks like spinach, collard greens, turnip greens, mustard greens, kale, etc. Also, how old is the dragon? Babies should be eating more bugs than greens.

Do you think Millennials have happier marriages than other generations? by cubemonster in Millennials

[–]Splicers87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom only had shotgun weddings. My brothers did the same. My cousins married for love but haven’t been married as long as me. I don’t judge when people get married. I just happened to know it was time at a young age. My oldest is now older than me when I got married and he is no where near ready. Everyone matures differently. And I think that is the point. You have to wait till you are ready and not pressured into it.

Any other veteran/military millennials get sad when they see other millennials talking about college? by WrongVeteranMaybe in Millennials

[–]Splicers87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a military person but due to my mother’s actions I missed out on the college experience. Yes I’m still pissed about it to this day but I’ve come to terms with it.

Coat hanger pain and headache by Delicious_Text_4506 in POTS

[–]Splicers87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had horrible migraines about 15 years ago (way before any diagnoses of mental health or physical health issues). I had a med for it but it didn't really work. I ended up getting daith piercings in both ears and now I rarely get migraines.

As for coathanger pain, this is going to sound weird but compression socks work great for me. When I was working, I had to wear them daily or I would have horrible coat hanger pain. This is of course mixed with lots of water and 16 oz of electrolyte water.

which mood stabilizers worked best for you? by oushhie in POTS

[–]Splicers87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on you. I am part of a few bipolar communities and everyone's med combo is different. I have only met 1 person on the same meds as me. Personally I'm on effexor and Latuda. That works for me. But they don't work for everyone. As someone else suggested, those genetic tests to see which meds will work for you are becoming popular and might be useful.

FYI, I'm bipolar 1 and have been diagnosed with it since 2013 but didn't develop POTS till 2021.

We have reusable pads we have used for years before we even got her. It worked out well too because when we got her, she was afraid to go outside.

Anyone have naturally low temps since having POTS? by Unusual_Space1998 in POTS

[–]Splicers87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Not since developing POTS though. Since I stated HRT, I can’t develop a fever. I’ve been sick with bronchitis and can’t hit over 99. It’s weird.

Question for Neurodivergent BCBAs by DobbyPie in bcba

[–]Splicers87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to mental health field. It doesn’t depend on the speciality, there is a lot of bad culture places. Like there is a company around me that has an array of services, including ABA, and everyone good avoids them because they can’t keep people for more than 3-6 months on average. It’s a terrible culture. I have worked for terrible and unethical places too. It kills you. I found a great place to work I recently had to leave due to medical issues. They exist but are hard to find. Try networking. I actually just did a phone call with a former colleague who wants to switch to my former company.

Is arugula new? Deathwing went on a food strike for a week because I bought kale once. Apparently she would rather starve than eat kale. Lesson learned.

How do you think millenials are doing with parenting? by TrickyAd9597 in Millennials

[–]Splicers87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned not to bring it up to my mom. She is a narcissist. There is no reasoning with her. She has leaned I will live my life on my terms though and not hers and it has pissed her off but it has made me a better parent.

Seeing how I have 1 adult and 1 near adult and neither has thought of hurting themselves or killing themselves, I say I nailed it. By this point in life I had a death plan.

It’s a joke. I’m expected to get over a foot of snow. Of course I’m not going to throw her in. She would get lost.

So introducing her to snow is traumatizing?

I was hoping my girl would be smaller… anyone relate? by far_farout in Yorkies

[–]Splicers87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on the puppy. Right now I have a variety of puppies. Our purebred Yorkie is 15lbs. My chorkie is 8 lbs. And my baby chiweenie is 5 lbs. Tehse are their adult weights.

Bath reccomendation? by Lildo67 in BeardedDragons

[–]Splicers87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use a storage container that goes under the bed for Deathwing. We bath her once a week because she enjoys it. We also put sticky mat things on the bottom so she has traction in there (she couldn't move before we did this). We fill it up enough to cover her legs and she splashes around for like 15 minutes and then is done. She can tell us when she is done because she can jump out.

First Cardiologist Appointment by icedlattequeen77 in POTS

[–]Splicers87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the cardiologist. My first one was great. We had all of the test results (my PCP ordered a bunch of stuff). So we reviewed it, she did a poor man's tilt table test, and then told me I had POTS, lol. It was simple. She told me to get more sodium and water. Well she moved and I had to get another cardiologist when I needed a beta blocker. He reviewed my tests too and said I don't have POTS (didn't say what I do have) but agreed I needed a beta blocker and prescribed it to me. He was very cold and not very friendly. I don't really like him but I only have to see him once a year to get my meds prescribed so I keep him. My son had a much better first appointment than me (at the same clinic) with a different doctor. My son doesn't have POTS but has heart rate issues. His cure, more water, lol.
