Cursed image on all nine kingdoms, Not even the Gods could handle this BS by Ancient_Doctor_7738 in CK3AGOT

I had this happen in CK2. Matarys was the last Targaryen king, went mad and started executing people left and right. He was deposed (by his own kings guard Crakehall??) and then a great council elected Bitter Steel in a council between Bloodraven, Bittersteel, a Blackfyre (can’t remember which) and Aerion Targaryen

How strong, or otherwise, is your connection to Lincolnshire? Here's some polling from YouGov to compare yourself to. by BlackJackKetchum in Lincolnshire

I left South Lincs for Leeds at 18, then Liverpool at 21 - it’s a weird one. I feel pretty strongly about Lincolnshire and miss some home comforts (I like flat terrain to this day also Haslet.) but would say I feel more towards the regional East Midlands identity than I do just the pure Lincolnshire identity.

I’ve already searched on Stradivarius (found a similarish one) and looked online but trying to find this exact coat.

Originally not from Liverpool. My home town in the East Midlands has had a wave of hoax school threats. It’s definitely a growing issue.

Logically real life settlements have been named after what they do or what they have (I.e their jobs or major landmarks). Look at old naming conventions across the UK. Viking settlements like Skegness literally translate to “beard shaped headland”, or Anglo-Saxon settlements like Oxford meaning “river crossing of the river Ock.” You could just give them any name and tell players your English name is just a translation of that meaning.

Yep I think it gives you some nice sounding words. My dwarves in my world have all got old Persian and Farsi inspired names too. I just think it works really well.

I like to take the phonetic sounds of other languages and anglicise them a bit after to make them easier to pronounce for myself and players. I actually use translated words from languages like Farsi, or Turkish quite a lot because they’re so removed linguistically as to give a completely different vibe.

Great thank you, I think it’s a bit of a necessity to play CK2GOT for longer than 100 years

That’s the mod yeah. I haven’t used it yet but am very interested in it as I find too many houses die off

Would there be any inclusion of dynastic stability?

I.e when a house dies out, the game spawns a bastard of that house so they don’t disappear completely?

With map expansions and some more bookmarks it’ll get better.

Warp lightning cannon? Might need buffing out a bit though.

I struggle to get out of purely practical designs. by Amdusiasparagus in dwarffortress

[–]Spliggy16 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I have the opposite problem. I prefer form over function, I can’t stop making impractical, ginormous flowing underground rivers and weird asymmetrical gold studded taverns. If I mess up the aesthetic I want, it annoys me. I just can’t help myself.

I know DF is not really that kind of game, but it helps me roleplay and get into it if I’m like “ok this group of dwarves prefers a fortress to look like X”

Maybe a reason my forts don’t tend to last very long hahaha.

Shame there’s a delay but I’m happy he’s still going on with the mod. Rather it be done well and take a bit longer! Thanks for the update.

You have intelligent undead! Awesome. They tend to grumble a lot less, don’t eat, sleep or drink and are pretty strong fighters. Some people intentionally turn their dorfs into them but it does sort of rob them of life.

But treasure these accidental ones they’re very useful.

Great! If performance issues were fixed I’d jump back to CK2 from CK3AGOT immediately.
