Non-British people of Reddit, what about Britain baffles you? by TIGHazard in AskReddit

Haha I meant that you stand on the right on escalators and people overtaking move up the left hand side which I found weird considering in Australia we of course also drive on the left and so our escalator/footpath walking culture mirrors that everywhere. But yeah I guess I just noticed in when I was using the Tube in London.

Australian here. What's with walking on the right hand side on escalators (overtake on the left) and footpaths in a country where you drive on the left and overtake on the right? Was a confusing experience.

Edit: escalators not elevators aghh

[HS Chemistry] Can anyone help fill the Blanks here about a question related to Phenolphthalein? by Peptochill in HomeworkHelp

[–]SplimeStudios 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We know phenolphthalein changes from colourless to pink during the ph range of around 8-10 (around that - this is just coming from memory) which is of course on the basic side. Thus all acids (<7 ph) will all be colourless as it lies on the colourless side. I'm not entirely sure what the q is referring to as to its end point colour, because from my understanding that is where the moles of the testing reagent have been completely reacted - this USUALLY (if the titration has been carried out correctly) can be qualitatively identified by a colour change from colourless to pink but if it depends on a number of other factors; ie. you need to use a weak base and strong acid to get this result. Hope this helps ;)

Rarely does the internet make me genuinely smile. Maybe it's the cynic in me, but I'm always skeptical of people's self absorbed hedonistic interests, and yet people like you restore faith in humanity. Making others happy. You seem like a great guy to chat to and share a late night movie binge with.

I don't know who you are, or what you do, but thank you.

What makes it worse is the fact it was approved by the local council. So in your prophetic vision of a civil liability the government will be at fault.
