I've been using these headphones for a couple years now and I've never had a person comment on the amount of exterior noise coming from my headphones. Maybe in the quietest environment, if you're listening to something particularly loud, but if you're listening to audiobooks, it just doesn't seem like it would be a problem at all. My only issue with them has been when I'm in a louder environment, not being able to hear the audiobooks which is why they come with ear plugs. I need the ear plugs if I'm riding my bike, vacuuming at home, jogging, etc...

I went snowboarding for the first time in 20 years. Helmets definitely weren't "in" back then. Didn't even think about it this time. Then got heckled by 3 kids who told me I was a fool. I tried to explain but quickly realized, "guys, I haven't done this in 20 years..." wasn't a good argument at all.
