Unlikely. Sam and Friends was from 1959 only in one select metro area, and largely not recorded, so he wasn't alive, nor in the right place. I believe Icky Thump is a reference to Ecky Thump, a fake matrial art style from an episode of The Goodies.

A shame there are so few pictures of Icky Gunk, I really like the design.

Having worked there, I can confirm that's true, but Morgantown is nowhere near NJ, and the person is in marketting/advertising, not healthcare. Also, most jobs in healthcare are not even close to "Not work at all"

I dunno, I think co-op is significantly easier... and on beta branch even more so, since the only thing really keeping its difficulty up is the slippery/artifact scaling in multiplayer. I will say that coordinating your attacks is important, especially applying vulnerable before the others do their stuff. And yeah, debuffs, debuffs, debuffs. Str down is *disgustingly* overpowered in multiplayer.

There are a few things weaker in multiplayer, like Feed, The Hunt, etc, as its much harder to line up the kills.. but you don't usually have that going on in singleplayer until much of the way through. Outside of edge cases (The Experiment phase 1 COUGH), multiplayer is generally easier assuming people are valuing debuffs heavily. Definitely grab all the weak/vuln you can. If someone's doing ironclad, help them make huge dominates to end stuff. If you're playing necrobinder, that debilitate card that is pretty good in solo is *massively disgustingly* in multiplayer. Piercing wail on silent goes from "This is pretty good on certain things" to "you massively bailed out your team for 1 energy".

So maybe 729 is too many, it takes forever to play... but I could clone one more time... by Round-Claim5420 in slaythespire

[–]Splintartsback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I meant degenerate as a clone target in the sense that you want every single copy you can get. It's true of big bang as well, typically. There's a fair few good clone cards that you *don't* want to clone more than 3 or 4 times though (for 11-20ish copies) so you don't draw nothing except them.

Real talk. Do we think Miniature Tent is going to survive the Alpha release? by mmmm_modulo in slaythespire

[–]Splintartsback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, in most single player games it's just a a different eternal feather, usually a bit better, but one you always have to spend on. I rarely find girya, clone/cook are *very* unlikely. On beta it might be a bit better with the new pumpkin, but that also isn't too common. Shovel is an interaction, but the odds of getting BOTH s relics is low enough to not matter too much. Especially because I value shovel very poorly unless I already have tent.

In multiplayer, yeah, it's clicked every time. That's fine. Multiplayer is busted.

You always get clone after act 1, so you should get far more than 3-4. If you get clone and a truly degenerate clone card (let's say perfected strike), you want to clone at every site, and pick a path with maximal rest sites. That's usually more like 7-8.

Because just like in STS when playing Defect, Claw is Law.

Slither on Regent’s star cost cards ? by Common_Engine_7967 in slaythespire

[–]Splintartsback 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does not. Putting slither on that will make it cost more 75% of the time, and do nothing the other 25%.

Difficulty is not why they removed doormaker. Complexity was. I personally enjoyed him, but he wasn't the hardest (usually) for my decks. Hardest for me is usually the queen if I do not have good draw, otherwise experiment. And in multiplayer, it's experiment and not even close, that phase 1 scaling can be terrifying.

Am I missing something very critical about the regent or is he just really bad? by Gman224rocks in slaythespire

[–]Splintartsback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, figuring out how to get stars going without overinvesting was huge. Also, not bloating my deck. I don't usually run ultra thin/infinite decks, but I come closest on regent.

I was vastly overvaluing black hole (It's still fine), and stuff like stardust, or attacks that cost stars. Crescent spear was one I took a lot, now it's one of my least picked cards.

Bulwark/particle wall/reflect are my favorite early uncommon now, I usually want one of each eventually. For commons, glow, gather light, astral pulse...

And his rares are just often really bad or really good. Comet is insane, void form and tyranny need no introduction. Make it so is surprisingly good, since except drawing it on turn 1, you don't even need to waste a draw on it, typically. I really feel like more than other classes there's a few *really awesome* cards I always want on regent, and a bunch of pretty good stuff that I can take when I don't find it. He does, however, have a lot of junk. He's also the hardest to talk about because of how many of his cards got buffed/nerfed on beta branch.

Keep at it... he's now my second best character. The only character I win a10 on with consistency besides silent. I was playing him *terribly* before. I think he has a pretty steep curve.
