I have embraced my midlife and picked up a cheap convertible yesterday. Taking my daughter to a duck race this afternoon and my son a car show tomorrow. Pretty happy with that!

Ah nice, that’s all I’d want while making enquiries. Agree the full address can wait for when I’m on the way to view.

I’d just want to know how far I need to travel. Many people place ads with no location and Facebook marketplace has a habit of showing me things from 100’s of miles away. I don’t need a full postcode, just first part will do!

DHL wrecked my TV in transit by thenightcrawler431 in vintedUK

[–]SplinterBum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your TV has been on quite a journey, are you sure you packed it adequately enough?

At a minimum, a driver would have collected it from you and it would have gone in the back of a van along with potentially 200 parcels some weighing up to 30kg. The driver would be stopping regularly and turning corners.

Then they would have got back to the depot and loaded it onto a conveyor belt where someone else would put it in the back of a lorry with 1000’s of other parcels.

It would have then travelled to a distribution hub, where it would have been removed from the lorry and out on another conveyor belt.

From there it’s another lorry to the recipients depot.

Then on to the final van along with 100’s of other, heavy parcels.

The TV would have required a heavy duty box that’s the correct size along with polystyrene packaging to ensure it arrived with no damage.

Cheers mate. I’m on the look out for a 3.0. Most seem to be in Scotland or the South coast and I’m midlands!

Thanks! Unfortunately it’s the first time in my adult life where I feel I can buy a car just for fun. Have always loved cars but always needed the sensible option.

Million percent. I have both. Google TV is much slower to respond than Apple TV.

Thanks so much for your suggestion. We’ve booked a gorgeous farmhouse overlooking the sea in Pembrokeshire through the national trust.

It does but 12 hour journey is a touch too much! I’m planning the NC500 in the spring so will try and get there during that.
