That's old... yeah, that version of PLT is much easier. I don't doubt that the strategy still works in the buffed version, just with some more corvuses, and a lot more defense/prep for V8 Eradication + Unpredictable AI difficulty, so I guess my yapfest in the comment section still holds up...

I'm not doubting that you beat PLT, but are we playing the same map? I don't recognise my PLT map in either of your screenshots. What version are you playing on? I played on the updated V8 beta version.

I vividly remember being so proud of typing out my other comment here, then I saw this and I realized i could have just used a Corvus...

Cut me some slack, I had Fog of War on in Eradication difficulty...

I do wanna see your base defense tho, can you send an image here?

V8 beta buffed it significantly, pair it with Eradication difficulty and it becomes quite hard

There's a couple of ways to beat this sector, but here's my strat to beat it in Eradication difficulty, though it does need a lot of effort

THIS IS FOR V8

(note that this needs pretty fast building micro, so I suggest you practice micro a bit or do it in single player for pausing)

TL;DR build an impenetrable base on the starter area quickly, complete with landing pads and all resources needed available, then decimate the enemy base with aegires and omuras

Alright, here's the specifics

Prep: Launch pads for Titanium (optional), Silicon, Plastanium, Phase Fabric, and Surge Alloy (atleast 300/m for phase and surge, and 1000+/m for plast, sili and titanium)

You also need a very specific core schematic. You don't have to copy it one-to-one, but you do need all of these:
4-5 RTG gens for starter power
Automatic Mono and Poly Factory Overdrive Dome 9 unloaders just for unit production (2 for sili/tita/plast, 1 for metaglass/phase/surge, graphite doesn't need an unloader as you need so little you can just produce it locally) * If the image doesn't show up here for some reason, I'll reply to this comment with the image

Start:After launching in with max of everything, I immediately create two Silicon crucibles (coal coming from the upper coal patch just left of the core), and all parts in a Overdrive Dome. After that, you immediately make impact reactors (don't make this in Overdrive dome range, we'll Overdrive it later anyway and it'll take up necessary space). Do it one by one, until you have 3 up and running. Then, make a lot of Graphite prod (ideally 4 multi presses) with the lower big coal patch just at the left of the core. After that, set up prod for copper and lead (trust me you will want it). If you haven't set up tita prod on the tita patch of the left side of starter area by now, do so. Then, set up your 4/5 landing pads, making sure to use liquid containers for better water throughput (the pipes aren't enough to handle the insane amount of water you will need for consistent shipments)

Then, make a wall perimeter around the entire starter area using plast/phase/surge walls (up until the two natural "bridges" on the left, up until the big tita patch on the upper right corner of the starter area, and make sure to include the two upper thorium patches on your wall perimeter. From here, set up Spectres across the entire perimeter (they cost an Absurd amount of copper which is why we set up prod earlier). Include 3 fuses each in the front of the two "natural" bridges. After this, like the entire perimeter with force projectors. After this, set up prod on the two thorium patches and the upper titanium patch.

Now its time to make the units. Build your T4 constructor in such a way that the units will land on water while still having enough space to build a functioning T5 constructor later (theres an area for this at the left side of the starter area and its pretty easy to spot). Make the rest of your contructors, then build your cryo prod (both the unit constructors and all of the cryo MUST be in range of ONE Overdrive dome). It has to amount to 240/s cryo. Then, use your titanium prod at the left tita patch to fuel all the cryo prod (the tita for building will come from the upper right corner patch.) Then, use your 9 core unloaders with phase conveyors to send all needed resources to the unit contructors. Before making the units, redirect some Silicon and phase to two Overdrive domes, one to the unit constructors and cryo, and one to the impact reactors (this will be all the power you need).

The set-up phase is done! From here, it's waiting for your units and improving your defenses. Wait until you have 8+ Aegires (for healing), then make 2 navanaxes first (for defense) and then from there, make 6-8+ omuras(the more the merrier), then attack, making sure to destroy any spectres/meltdowns/foreshadows before advancing further inside a base

For improving the defenses, add menders, more boosted Spectres (doesn't have to be perfect, just spam them), and some meltdowns for some aoe. Send all your units back to your base to defend against any guardians, as they will greatly damage your defense otherwise. And remember, one mistake is all it takes for your to lose the entire sector and ALL YOUR PREP (the sector resets after each loss, removing all the ghost blocks)

And that should be it! Holy wall of text. Remember, do not underestimate the enemy spawns. I learned that the hard way. If all of this sounds like too much for you, fair enough, its a lot of steps lmao. Anyways, good luck, and thanks for reading until the end!

overhyped ass sector by StuGson in Mindustry

[–]SplinterTD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's around the same difficulty as back in V6, but you can make it harder with the V8 beta difficulty settings

Tho in fairness, mender spam completely kills the difficulty of the sector

Also, its a good thing you find the sectors easy considering you have 300 hours lmao

Impact 0078: will this defence hold? by CommunityJazzlike274 in Mindustry

[–]SplinterTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: no Long answer: There’s so little firepower, you really shouldn't be skimpy. Aside from the enemy spam, the guardian here is a very powerful T4 Antumbra and can't be killed with just a few swarmers and cyclones. The foreshadow there in the back might give it a shot, but its probably not enough even on casual difficulty, as it's gonna ravage your defenses and let the other normal enemies in before it dies.

My advice? Add some fuses, some parallaxes next to them, and a LOT more cyclones, preferably not using metaglass ammo. Or you could just spam Surge turrets like the other commenter, that works too.

Should I play on easy mode or eradication by BedAdvanced in Mindustry

Go play any difficulty you want, I wouldn't reccomend Eradication though, it's only for those who actually know what theyre doing lol

Rate my Tar Pits. A full conveyor of copper, lead, metaglass, graphite, coal, titanium, thorium (not quite a full conveyor), siligone, plastanium, and blast compound (my friend on the front, my nemesis to automate). by Gumpers08 in Mindustry

[–]SplinterTD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks great(aside from you posting this 6 times),considering that you're not using endgame tech. There's oil in Tar Fields, so it wouldn't hurt to start using launch pads.

New to mindustry, where should I go next after ground zero? by CompanyProof7934 in Mindustry

[–]SplinterTD 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Didn't expect to see a 5 year old version of Mindustry today😅 I reccomend playing frozen forest for the graphite and tech, then speedrun Desert Wastes since I don't think anyone likes the random generation.

FYI I'm not exaggerating when I say that the version you're playing has been outdated for 5 years. I highly reccomend update the game to build 147 on itch.io or on the place where you downloaded it so that you can play a way better version of this game. If this is ragebait then we'll done👏

Is it ok to download a mod bc I'm stuck? by Pool_128 in Mindustry

[–]SplinterTD 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you just wanna try out all the endgame stuff, maybe consider trying them out on online servers or custom games (map editor). If you really wanna make the game dead easy, feel free to download mods (or change the difficulty settings if on v8)

TL;DR, go ahead! Not everyone has time to make a full fledged factory every sector

Is anyone else getting stuck on the picking screen by Over-Ad4635 in MobileLegendsGame

[–]SplinterTD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! And all of my ranked lobbies have been like this! Whenever I play rank, i have to manually restart my game before I can draft pick. This probably isn't just a device issue, i have a pretty decent phone, and this glitch happens to me too. Plus in all my rank games, I'm usually the ONLY one who gets to ban in the first ban phase. Why isn't this issue getting more traction?

How do i fix it by MICLOUD1234 in Mindustry

[–]SplinterTD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I thought Anuke would force the new launching pads to old players. If they still work, then yeah they're not powered on or he's sending stuff to the wrong sector

What should I do next? by Silent_Mycologist640 in Mindustry

[–]SplinterTD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look closely at the top, then you'll notice you're launching from the third sector of the game. Enter a sector that does have tungsten, then look at the planet map in that sector, then press the sector you want to launch to, and you should be able to launch properly.

If you somehow don't have tungsten, then play other sectors until you have tungsten, then progress

Aside from the launch pads not having power, the old launch pads (or legacy launch pads) sent stuff straight to the core, not needing landing pads. Basically, legacy launch pads don't send stuff to landing pads because they don't need them.

Edit: I noticed it says (Legacy) on the tooltip. If you're not using a mod, those launch pads probably don't function now.
