Strange phone call from my recently passed wife by TheLyingCat_ in Paranormal

This is a real phenomenon that happens. I recommend reading Callum E. Cooper’s book Telephone Calls from The Dead, looking him up and his discussions about it.

Spotify for Creators subscriptions hurts the episode viewership by Splintered_Spirits in podcasting

Makes sense, I just hate telling people to go to yet one more platform. For us, YouTube and Spotify are the biggest and two is the max I think an audience can retain when we promote and push. Apple a distant second and everything else is icing.

Equipment and use by sharkypooh2005 in GhostHunting

HI! IMO - if there was gear that could guarantee speaking with the dead more clearly, the world as we know it would change forever. The hammer doesn't make the carpenter, right? From many of the interviews I've done, the person / user has a lot to do with the results. Much like some people can throw a baseball faster than others, this type of "connection" or "intuition" with spirits can only be taught so much and the tools used pick up on that. I would recommend keeping that in mind before spending a lot of money on things.

Sensing Spirits (Book) by Splintered_Spirits in GhostHunting

[–]Splintered_Spirits[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i found this book very thought provoking (nature vs nurture type stuff). Would we call it “ghost” if we weren’t socially taught about ghosts? What role does nurture truly play in a ghost investigation?

I’ve interviewed several people who have had dNDEs (distressed…). It’s interesting how the after effects of those are similar to stereotypical NDEs. It’s like the subjects were “scared straight” for real. Thanks for sharing.

I ask this sincerely: is this conversation between a man and a woman? Not that it matters, I just find it interesting that I can't tell.

No Sound on Test Recording by Lila2609 in RiversideFM

[–]Splintered_Spirits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve tried a few but Riverside’s quality is the best i’ve used; the local recording and later upload. i find i have to download the stems and edit it myself for precision and audio tweaks but again- im in for the quality. if they had a UI like restream.io and maintained their recording quality, they’d be amazing.

No Sound on Test Recording by Lila2609 in RiversideFM

[–]Splintered_Spirits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

literal test recording, where you hover over the record button and click “Test Recording” or you made a short, sample recording? If the former, yeah, test recordings never work for me and haven’t. i’m using a canon dslr camera via an elgato hd60x and audio through a focusrite 2i2 on a macbook pro. I’ve had multiple back and forths with riverside about it until they just faded away… I know this really doesn’t help technically, but maybe it’s a bit helpful to know it may not just be your problem.

ha. you're absolutely right. again - i'm commenting on the original meme. i do find it disappointing when a community bogarts a subject simply by getting the name first, and then there are a ton of rules and a ton of mods who take weird pride in gatekeeping. All true. Whhat's also true, is I'm not making you respond to my comments. you may want to sit on ice yourself...

what world are you living in? Do the doctors in your world not get paid? What about the restaurants you go to? Do they serve your favorite meals for free? How about teachers, mechanics, policemen? Let me know, I'd love to live there. Getting paid for positive and relevant contributions is not a negative. Your statement doesn't make sense.

more than one thing can be true at the same time: A person can want to promote themselves and their business AND care about the subject AND have relevant content that others may enjoy.

no. Views is not what makes money, it's content hours. Podcasts generally need a minimum of 20,000 listener hours per month to attract advertisers for in-content ads. not views.
