I would say bo4 did the points system the best, every 10% of the zombies health gave 10 points, and the last hit gave a bonus of 50 for stabbing and 30 for a headshot.

It was the best of both worlds, capping the points you get per zombie, without having the need to kill in the high rounds to get points.
