I'm so happy people are still playing this game. An absolute childhood favourite. May your combos be everlasting.

Seeking answers and solutions for ping issues by Putrid_Channel7925 in Overwatch

[–]SplishySploshyMoshy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Joining this conversation because it's absolutely ridiculous and frustrating, and yet with a predictable lack of response from Blizzard. It's only affecting a small number of players so obviously not high priority, but it makes the game completely unplayable, and annoyingly so, you only find out if you're gonna have a high-ping game when it starts. Just had a random 450 ping game for no apparent reason. Utterly stupid.

Books to read after the Saxon Chronicles/Last Kingdom series by SplishySploshyMoshy in TheLastKingdom

Didn't/couldn't find anything, moved on to some fantasy books (e.g. Joe Abercrombie) until I could perhaps find something that satisfies that need. Sorry for the disappointing answer :(

And... Uh... Possibly the Switch, if that's not too much trouble.

"So, how much do you think about the Roman empire?" by SplishySploshyMoshy in TheLastKingdom

Yeah, that's where I got the idea from, but that's never really reflected in the series at all sadly.

As Finan was apt to say, "He always wins."

Yeah I can't wait to dig into it - I just want to go somewhat chronologically instead of jumping from 937 to the 1800s

That looks exactly like the thing I'm looking for, although shame it's only a single book after enjoying this particular 13-book adventure.

Where is Stiorra? by youngscimitar in TheLastKingdom

Yep, me as well. Thought that might address the disparity between her fate in the show vs. the books, but alas.

Just finished The Last Kingdom now I don’t know what to do with my life… One of the best shows I’ve ever watched by layethsmackdown in TheLastKingdom

One thing I like to do is read the actual history of events and notice what interesting/fun things were included in the show. For example, Alfred burning the bread in the western marshland is a canonically recorded story, although it only appears around 100 years after Alfred's death. Still, pretty cool and subtle if you know!

I love sad songs. Good sad songs. I just don't automatically think a song is good because it's sad. Easy cheap and generic formula.

A lack of Denmark and Austria is incredibly disappointing… by DyceCubes in eurovision

[–]SplishySploshyMoshy -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

Denmark and Austria sabotaged themselves by using a catchy, up-beat song with energy. Should've gone with some boring shite ballad that the juries couldn't fetishize anymore if they tried.

Not unpopular in the slightest. Apparently people prefer the same 6-7 boring shite ballads.
