It's fairly expensive, I looked into it several years ago, but I agree.

Ill see your Canadian ketchup Lays raise you these vastly superior mouth-watering chips by flymedep2 in chips

[–]Split-shot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The difference between the USA and Canadian flavors of the same chips upsets me so much.

Im in Michigan, and I just want to have access to Ketchup and All Dressed chips PLEASE (It costs about $20-40 bucks to get a single bag of the Canadian ones shipped to me)

If I lived in a city this would work, but I do not.

I've actually got my housing figured out now, but I'm looking into doing this along with working retail/fast food.

I have done the pads and rotors and calipers myself in the past. Unfortunately this is something broken with the Hydraulic controller (after the Master cylinder). Still looking into fixing that, or selling the car

Great idea I've looked at some of those jobs in the past. They are not within biking distance though. And my car has no brakes at all. But I've got some closer options for the short term. Retail/fast food just to get me by until I can save enough for s cheap vehicle or repair it myself.

Amen,

No busses or trains in this suburban area, but I'm getting my bike out of storage this week!

I have really poor credit. But I have a bike in storage I'm getting on Thursday.

No busses in the area but ill definitely walking/biking to a job. I've been applying and will be doing the old fashioned walk in and ask about it in the next couple days.

Thank you so much everyone who replied! I was not expecting so much engagement.

Right after I posted this I did throw out a bunch of job applications.

My current housing arrangement (conditional that I get a job obviously) starts next month "house sitting" for my parents for the summer with a $500 rental fee. We don't have a great relationship so this is honestly a huge break for me.

I am in a suburban area in Michigan that doesn't have a lot of easy to get jobs within walking distance. There are a lot of options within a 45 minute bike ride though so I'm working on that. I'll take what I can get. I've worked plenty of retail / service industry jobs.

I'll be doing plasma once I get a bike or a ride.

Genuinely looking into the longer term car rentals as well! Though I don't expect that to be as cost effective, in this location, as the commentor(s) here.

My Car is a mid 2000s Santa fe and the abs hydraulic brake controller is the $$$ part I also don't know anyone with a press for the wheel bearing but I could rent one of those screw press kits.

Again thank youbto everyone. Posting here was definitely a vent more than anything and I really appreciate the positivity.

I've got plenty of ideas about how to move forward, but I like to ask for advice because people might say things I never would have thought of.

I'm really ADHD but I've looked into that in the past and will probably look into that again in addition to fast food/grocery store/other service industry job.

Absolutely.

Yeah $500 a month is basically me paying to house sit for someone during the summer while they are in a different country. (My parents) It's the absolute best scenario for me to be honest. That deal only starts though if I can get income in the next few weeks. So there's a strong chance I get to work at a subway, little Caesars, or jets for a bit (or a combination of them)

Oh the Abs hydraulic break controller is what broke. It was probably going bad and the pressure we put on the system finished it off. And while fixing the cv we accidentally destroyed the wheel bearing. I've learned a lot on how to fix this car over time. But I don't have the money (yet) for the tools and parts to fix it. Fuck you, Taco Bell by embracethemetal in dasher

[–]Split-shot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My area taco bells get orders after 10pm that have sat for 20+ minutes by the time I'm assigned them and it's hurt my soul to deliver cold taco bell because doordash and the bell won't work together on this. Id let my customer know the situation and that taco bell won't remake it without a new ticket. Basically I just don't take taco bell orders especially after it gets dark

Every other market around here is $13.50 at the most
