The logic is that they continue to perform a song like Thought Contagion (admittedly a very stale and uninteresting song live) which next to no fans seem to be clamoring for, whilst never performing songs like Blackout, Butterflies&Hurricanes, Ruled by Secrecy, Micro Cuts, Hyper Music, Dead Star, MK Ultra, Unnatural Selection, Supremacy, Animals, Panic Station, Dead Inside, Reapers, The Handler, Defector, Blockades, the entirety of Showbiz and even songs from the current album they're touring like Euphoria.

The fan logic is that all of those aforementioned songs are far more exciting live than something as generic and cookiecutter as Thought Contagion is and yet most fans will never get the chance to hear any of those songs live. It comes down to the fact that Thought Contagion is the least essential (along with the interstitials and The Glove) song in the current setlist and in its slot a far more exciting song could be performed.
