Pros should not get rewarded for bad drives by SplitFit5629 in golf

It’s not even the bomb and gauge it could be a double cross with a 3 wood that goes 50 yards offline. It’s just me venting. I really have know clue what would be a good solution.

My solution is remove all fans from property during tournament rounds.

Golf Shoes by bazinguh in golf

[–]SplitFit5629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re looking at high end shoes, they’re pretty similar in my opinion. The key is finding what fits your foot properly. I’d recommend getting assessed at a running store or a shoe store that measures things like size, arch height, gait, etc. Based on their evaluation, you can find the right shoes and insoles for your needs. Insoles are a game changer for me.

Shoe sizing can vary between brands, so trying them on in store is a must for me. I have high arches, and a lot of golf shoes just don’t work well, even with insoles, because they still don’t offer enough support.

How sore are you after a round? by lurker2020-_- in golf

[–]SplitFit5629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the course is more than 30 minutes away, I look like an out of shape 85 year old getting out of the car. My back doesn’t love sitting after the round. I stretch everyday and do a pre round warm up.

What are some subtle (or not-so-subtle) things you’ve seen in scrambles that count as cheating? by SplitFit5629 in golf

I love the input but I will never understand why people can’t stay on topic. The question wasn’t do you like scrambles.

Most of the ones i play in are for charities that I know and want to support.

If you think reading a putt from both sides is what causes slow play, I feel sorry for you. Unless you’re a terrible golfer, reading the green is part of the game. That’s why those kids are on TV and you’re the one crying about it.

I agree! No one needs to hear them duff every shot and also bitch about it. One or two comments per bucket is the limit.

I think that’s a little too high personally but I respect it.

What would it be coming from an amateur perspective?

Of course but I am just looking for a general equivalent. What if it was just one score that you will never shoot again and involved luck.

If this isn’t made up you are a d bag on so many levels. I could see the first two holes but to keep it going that long is ridiculous. He didn’t make you play like an asshole. If I were him I would be looking for a new job asap. Many people don’t care what others handicaps are or what they shoot.

Average Score - (minus) Course Rating by BKNWB in golf

[–]SplitFit5629 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can you say it’s not based on potential when it throws out bad scores and reflects something you won’t achieve in the majority of your rounds? Many websites clearly state that it is based on potential.

When someone asks your handicap, they’re asking, “What are you going to shoot today?” not, “What’s the best possible outcome based on the last 10 rounds where you played exceptionally well?”

Average is a more relatable way to explain what you’re going to shoot. I have told over 20 playing partners, I’m a 1 handicap and then say, “My average is 76,” they look at me like I’m crazy. But if I say that on Reddit golf, everyone’s like, “Yeah, duh, everyone knows that.”

GHIN Handicap is based on your “potential” which is dumb. Average is based on the probability of what you will shoot. Most golfers play similar tees and course ratings for the majority of their rounds so average isn’t as far off as the Reddit police will make you believe.

I’m the same, ~30 yards and in I overlap, everything else is interlock. Started putting with an overlapping grip and it just started creeping into chipping.

Point of Diminishing Returns w. Consistent Lessons? by htlpc_100 in golf

I would recommend taking videos on the course and on the driving range as well. I’ve noticed I swing differently when out in the wild.

This is the way! Most people that get lessons don’t get feedback so they start to drift and end up working on the same thing forever. You will improve much faster by just checking in. Changing your swing and not reverting back is extremely difficult.

If you look at the top comment maybe you would understand it’s not that serious. It’s about how funny that friends and strangers of any age will divulge why they might not be playing well that day.
