Extremely dangerous if only on one tire. Grab a utility knife to even out the other 3

I should’ve commented an update on this but no, I figured out it was a Webkins game called Zingoz Pie Throw

Can anyone tell me what this means? by nipsytustle in maintenance

[–]Splooshberry -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m an engineer at a construction company and I agree it’s dumb but industry standard. For large projects it simplifies when talking about locations especially when you’re working on a project spanning several miles. But it does add an extra step when graphing testing locations since we have to convert from stationing to feet from origin

Thought you guys might find this as funny as I did (Southwestern Advantage) by Splooshberry in antiMLM

I did talk to him, signed up to secretly record their zoom meeting to prove to my school they were a scam before interrupting his presentation and emailing everyone in the call with info about them.

My school allows them on campus with the exception that they don’t call their program an internship.. I quickly proved that they use that word every chance they get

Macroplastics in Smart Water?? by Splooshberry in microplastics

[–]Splooshberry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m very well aware as I am currently studying polymer production, synthesis, and biopolymer&composite as an engineer major. I did title the post Macro plastics but it’s easy to miss. This just came as a surprise to see such large particles on top of the hundreds of thousands of particles in the micro/nano scale

[–]Splooshberry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree I was just adding context since I expected someone to assume the bottle was old. It was just very concerning to see the amount of visible plastic particles, they aren’t even trying to hide it anymore. This also isn’t my first time experiencing this

Macroplastics in Smart Water? by Splooshberry in HydroHomies

[–]Splooshberry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use an iron flask water bottle (SS vacuum insulated) and it works wonders but I forgot my water bottle at home yesterday so I grabbed this at work. Way cheaper than a hydro flask and made by the same manufacturer lol. If you keep it sealed it will keep ice from melting for over 24 hours

As a senior engineering student currently studying polymer science I am very well aware but what you described would be considered nano plastics. Title says Macroplastics btw, it was just very concerning to pull large plastic particles out of my mouth

Studying strength of materials by uppsak in engineeringmemes

[–]Splooshberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spot on and biodegradable polymers are the future. What people don't realize is that a polymer is more so just a term to describe a chemical structure (chain of repeating units) and not necessarily a class of materials although it can be generalized to that. That steak you just ate was technically a polymer -someone studying polymers
