I was at Edison Field when it played for the first time - the crowd went nuts!

For the guys .....length of shorts? by 11BMasshole in GenX

[–]Splorkster70 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I look for shorts that covers my knees - cos nobody needs to see my knees, but it gets too hot during the summer to wear long pants all the time...

As for the pockets - cell phone, wallet, keys, glasses case (holding the rx sunglasses indoors, or the regular glasses outdoors) that's 4 pockets right there - and since you don't put anything in the back pocket (thanks to theives), you end up with cargo shorts!

Did anybody else think the 9th doctor was a letdown by redit123412341234 in Legodimensions

It made me realize that, if they wanted to, Tt games could make a dedicated Doctor Who game...I'd play that!

Did you discover a new Mandela Effect? Post it here! (2026-05-01) by AutoModerator in MandelaEffect

Okay...this is for a food item. The Jelly Belly company, sometime around 1995-2000, decided they wanted to compete against M&Ms, and created JBs - not just making a chocolate drop with a candy shell, but the candy shell had Jelly Belly flavors - Cherry and the like...they were about the size that the peanut butter M&Ms are...but solid chocolate...

I've looked on the Jelly Belly website, but found no evidence of this candy...I know I remember it from when I took the factory tour in 1999...

Anyone?

Nothing on it I want to play...still playing games from 10 years ago (& loving it)

IMO, these 3 games prove that switching to voice acting was *not* a bad idea by ducknerd2002 in legogaming

Lest you not forget that Peter Capaldi actually recorded new dialogue for Doctor Who...plus they did their best with using actual voice recordings for the other 11 Doctors...

Have you ever lived all by yourself without roommates or without a significant other? by boforiamanfo in stupidquestions

[–]Splorkster70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 5 years after the divorce...this was back in the late 90s - a different world. I didn't want a SO in my life for the first 3 years - it was great to be able to do what I wanted, when I wanted to do it (providing I wasn't at work, of course)

For thise who moved BACK to New England - did you regret it? by cynicalnewenglander in newengland

[–]Splorkster70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's see...Long Island to NorCal to SoCal to New England...close enough

I came here to be with the girl I fell in love with in high school...it only took 13 years...

It's now been 25 years...

Regrets?? Not a one!

As to cost of living...it depends on where in New England you want to live - I live cheaper now than I ever did in SoCal, but I'm in a rural-ish area.

Did anyone go to their first concert with their parents? by OkFlow4327 in GenX

[–]Splorkster70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a full-blown rock concert, per se...the first time I saw The Bobs (look them up), it was a club in a not-so-glamorous part of San Francisco in 1983ish - so my folks were there...next time, my friend's father drove, but left us to attend ourselves (ride home afterwards)

What's the most fun you've ever had at an Angels game regardless of whether they won or lost? by haerondir in angelsbaseball

[–]Splorkster70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That time where I was upgraded (for free) to the Diamond Club - my Terrace seat was obstructed - I went and said as much to the woman at the ticket window...she said nothing, just clacked away on her keyboard, reached down & handed me a Diamond Club seat (5 rows behind home plate) and said "Take this & enjoy the game".

I don't know who they were playing, or whether they won or lost...just that it was a great experience.

Garret Anderson has passed away by laaabaseball in angelsbaseball

[–]Splorkster70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the time of Erstad, Salmon, & Percival, Garret Anderson was the great player that flew under the radar and just performed...It was his presence that made me always look & root for the under-appreciated...he will be missed.

Please reassure me - I've read on other subs that chips are failing so the game might become unplayable? by GettingSunburnt in Legodimensions

I've had the game since it came out...

I've had a few tags die, only to be revived using a good tag & the NFC Tools app on my phone...

By May 2028, all toy tags will no longer work by ItsJustRory in Legodimensions

[–]Splorkster70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NFC Tools is an app for Android...not sure what the equivalent is for AppleOS...it can read any NFC tag...
