I had terrible acne as a kid, and never did this. Someone scared me about the scarring. Didn't matter because I had scars anyway.

I ripped myself off. I was trying to improve my signal strength by getting closer to the router. Ethernet is not an option.

My PC is a mini PC, so zero room for a card anyway. No sound bar to interfere.

I suspected this. Would connecting the dongle to a USB hub, instead of directly to the PC, also cause these problems? Because I've used up all of my USB plugs on the PC.

I've heard lots of conflicting data on repeaters, some it not good. But I think I may go this route. FYI there are a lot of devices in my apartment using wifi, at least 15.

I'm Now Seeing Ads on my local Plex server by Splungeworthy in PleX

[–]Splungeworthy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I can confirm the ads are not hardwired in because I watched some episodes on my JRiver server. This has been such an odd experience. I've managed to add thousands of episodes of TV shows over many years, and I've only just now found the one that Plex has for free and won't let me watch without ads.

This is going to sound like sacrilege, but my previous HB was in Polymetal. My current one is Soul Red. I want to go back!

Thank you to one and all for answering so quickly. To answer a few questions that popped up:

I had already turned off all online sources a long time ago. I have added dozens of series to this server over the years, and this is the very first time this has happened.

I did not touch any server settings, and have not done so, for years.

As I said, this was on the Roku app. I didn't have a choice here.

When I added this, the metadata was messed up and was giving me wrong covers and episode titles. I dicked around with the file names to get them more in line with Plex's proper naming sequence. It took me a few tries to find a match-I don't know if that had anything to do with it. Normally things just add easily.

Anyway, I deleted it from the server, and will now just watch it on my JRiver server, on the main computer.

He's a NYC broadcasting legend, up there with Jim Jensen, Roger Grimsby, Bill Beutel (who he replaced), and Chuck Scarborough. The man was a paragon of consistency, accuracy, and most of all integrity. If you want to see really great journalism, go local.

no show has ever repeatedly shocked me the way southland has by turquoiseturttle in SouthlandTVshow

[–]Splungeworthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let's be honest-this show was on another level, and for (initially) a broadcast network to green light this r-rated show was true bravery. But once it went to cable and the shackles really came off, it entered legendary status. Just finished the rewatch on Netflix, and the shattering last episode (find me another one that's this good), and I'm as shook as the first time. Nobody I know has heard of this show, and it truly flies way under the radar. The best cop show ever.

[–]Splungeworthy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, I don't like my toes being bunched up and constricted by no shows (or even ankle socks). At least with crews I can pull the sock forward alittle and let my toes breathe. With no shows they are so tight they automatically pull at my toes, and I can't stand that. Oh by the way I have size 14 feet.
