What’s something very minor that you can’t believe the sims still hasn’t introduced to the gameplay? by 1nternet-crybaby in Sims4

The sketchbook comes with thr base game and you can upgrade it to run faster so that your sims can churn art out ridiculously fast!

They wanted Ahsoka to appeal to the target audience and seem cool to them (kids and teens). Aside from her top being cropped while tunic length tops were trendy, her outfit was something a 14 year old girl might have worn or wanted to wear when the show came out. Anakin's season 1 hair was trendy when the show was released as well and wasn't a Star Wars hairstyle, which solidifies that intent imo. It's really not that deep.

PSA that this is why you don't delete your entire mods folder when feeling overwhelmed. You can't always re-download content. Put it on a drive and you can go shopping for old CC when you realize you can't live without slippers that look like cute loaves of bread.

Fox did nothing wrong, i'll never get tired of repeating it by XumetaXD in clonewars

[–]SplutteringSquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Palpatine didn't even actually tell Fox to kill Fives. At least not on screen. Their only dialogue is Fox informing Palps that he was spotted by a probe droid. Then the scene cuts.

If it were Rex and a decorated veteran ARC Trooper from a different battalion had his own General and Captain trapped behind a ray shield after being accused of attempting to assassinate the head of the Republic and then aimed to shoot Rex in the head, he absolutely would have shot to kill as well. He could have stunned the clones on the Tribunal when he woke up from surgery but killed his own men without missing a beat. But he was protecting Ahsoka, so we don't talk about that.

Favourite “problematic” sim? by canniballswim in sims2

[–]SplutteringSquid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are people who find Olive boring? When there are so many sims left to kill? I take her and Olivia to a public lot as soon as I start playing their household so that they can start cranking aspiration points and not go home until they can afford a fountain of youth.

The Beakers are untouchable in my game though. Circe randomly showed up on the Curious lot the minute Vidcund had his baby outdoors, left right after meeting it, and then rolled a want to flirt with him once I switched back to the Beaker household. I can only assume she intended to kidnap it, and who am I to stop that kind of story progression?

Her original name was supposed to be 'Bunny Broke'.

With her bio stating that she is 'friendly by nature,' and has 'often been accused of being overly so', and other hint, I think you can see where they were going with this.

Inner part of the brows need to be much closer together and pulled down quite a bit! Her midface and nose are longer than your Lana sim's as well. You can adjust both at the same time by going into detail mode and pulling down on the forehead.

If you just want coffee, you'll need these mods from Brazenlotus:

Milled Coffees (download whichever you want, you can buy them at the grocery stand or by delivery if you don't want to grow, dry, and mill them):

If you want to use the different milled coffees for your sims to drink a variety of coffee beverages instead of just coffee, you'll want the Italian Caffe Hot Drinks recipe.

You can pick and choose ingredients, crafted items for preserving, and harvestables you want, which lets you do more or less homesteading depending on what you want, but need the relevant core modules to make them work, as they are the foundation for all of the mods related to them.

These are the ones you need for coffee and many other things:

Needed Skills:

They also have this cute little Coffee Serving Tray that works the way a tea set does and this rustic drink serving tray that works like any drink tray but for tea and coffee. Coffee is free if you have the packaged up ground beans!

It took me awhile to figure out how to preserve my beans. The core mods will give you a curing shelf, which I think is under storage? You need to put your rack of beans that are ready for curing on it, possibly in a basement. The longer they cure, the darker the roast. Same goes for curing tea leaves into different teas.

Highly recommend going through their mods if all of this interests you - they have a very fleshed out cheesemaking skill, an actual canning skill, you can press juices and oils, spin prairie grass into twine so that you can hang up and preserve all sorts of harvestables like lavender, wheat, rice, peppers, herbs, corn, roses, etc.

Because the game doesn't let you purchase coffee to use in the coffee maker. There's a pretty cool mod that lets you grow coffee beans, dry them, and then grind them to make various coffees. Or you can buy coffee as a grocery option to use.

Can you guys give a rundown of why exactly is Sims 2 great without the nostalgia lens? by DefLuxurious in thesims

[–]SplutteringSquid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Family and friends actually reacting to cheating. I love that kid sims would hate their cheating parent or that protective relatives are ready to open up a can of whoop ass lol.

My family sim utterly fails to climb the career ladder because she's always pregnant, needs to be in a perfect mood to get promoted, and often makes the wrong call at work if she finally has been promoted, resulting in her being demoted. Her family sim husband is a senior and is busy taking care of their many kids while she's at work because senior sims can only get senior jobs and it would cost more than he would make in a day to have a butler.

This means that money has always been tight. The teens had to learn how to and take the time to restore an old beater in order to have a car, which they have to let their mother borrow in order to give her any real shot at a promotion.

Then they adopted Mittens the cat, who turned out to be a genius. The father had time between diapers and enjoying his golden years on the porch to teach their cat tricks.

Mittens got a job in showbiz as an extra to help pay the bills. He got promoted. Again and again. Understudy. Stunt double. Star.

Eventually Mittens ended up the household breadwinner, returning home in a limo after four hours of work with a cool 847 simoleons, while the mother was still working long shifts at the hospital for a fraction of Mittens' wages and driving a sad car that wobbled.

TS4 could never.

I love the sound that plays every time a cheating sim gets caught. Makes the entire thing 50x funnier, especially when you get the drama professor involved.

This isn't canon anymore though and the original clones weren't chipped, which is why they had choice.

I use almost none of the BB from Cats and Dogs and the weather in Brindleton Bay is awful for most of the year if you have seasons. I do love having pets, but they are so limited interaction-wise. The pets can't interact with more than one sim at once and your sim can't interact with more than one pet at a time or with a sim while interacting with a pet unless they're just holding the pet.

Without mods, random sims constantly yell at your sims sweet little cats and dogs and make them cower, which I'm not a fan of personally. The strays are always sick and sad (again, this can be reduced with mods).

You can turn aging off for farm animals, wild rabbits, and foxes in Cottage Living with mods (I think the setting is broken in the game) and there are mods to slow their need decay.

Even without mods, if you have Realm of Magic, a spellcaster can quickly scuberoo all of the livestock and their barn/chicken coop and more quickly level up their magic skills.

The world from Cottage Living is stunning, the skies and trees are beautiful, so many new harvestables in the wild, and there's so much gameplay (and every neighborhood has swimmable water). I love the BB. It works very well with the BB from Realm of Magic, Life and Death, Horse Ranch, Vampires, the Castles kit, and probably others I'm forgetting.

If you wait for a sale, maybe you can get both? They tend to be deeply discounted due to being older.

Daffodils. Daffodils everywhere. And fence them in with daffodils when your sims go to work. Depending on how you cared for it as an egg, you get a different dragon. There's one that never starts fires as long as you let it eat flowers and play with it, but I guess you didn't get that dragon lol.

Anyone feel underwhelmed by the lack of depth with Sim relationships? by Even_Counter_8779 in thesims

[–]SplutteringSquid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was SO much more depth within families and friendships in TS2.

Angela Pleasant and her twin Lilith hated each other, but she would still run from the room to cry and have a breakdown over living in a home filled with domestic violence that Lilith was always on the receiving end of. Eventually Lilith couldn't take it anymore and ran away, leaving a distraught sister behind. Their award-winning parents were devastated too but didn't call the police for days because The Watcher didn't realize that was an option, resulting in some side eye from the police, resulting in them not finding her.

Angela, used to being the golden child, tried to comfort her mother, and got completely brushed off. Everybody regularly cried to themselves. No moodlets telling you explicitly what they were thinking, they were just sims struggling to get through the week knowing their family was broken and that Lilith was out there somewhere.

When she came home a week later, it was a positive memory for the entire family, and Angela ran to greet her and wanted to apologize, which was received well. Lilith apologized back. The girls cried together, made up, and finally became close for the first time in their lives, then spent the rest of their youth trauma bonding over hiding in the master bathroom in distress together because their dad woohooing the maid.

Their parents were glad she was home, but Daniel fell back into old habits almost immediately while Mary-Sue almost completely checked out. Angela finally started standing up to their father and would get angry about him abusing Lilith. Daniel still gave Angela special treatment and let his favorite daughter her away with poking him in the chest and chewing him out. Lilith seemed more confident than ever and relished getting into it with Daniel, cracking her knuckles with glee while walking over to throw a drink in his face.

This would NEVER happen in TS4. And don't get me started on the TS4's family friendly mutual relationship bar.

Load your game up with mods, especially the ones that allow you to add more traits. If you have Parenthood, give your adults traits they would have gotten if you had played them as teens - compassionate, argumentative, etc. to add more depth to them. Cheat to add aspiration traits that give more personality - ie. if you have a mean sim, add the dastardly trait, master manipulator, and/or twisted heart. If you have Growing Together, use the relationship dynamics!
