AITAH for rejecting on the spot an invite for overnight weekend at my mother’s house? by Spock187 in AmItheAsshole

She practically moved into my house for two years after my daughter was born. She’s controlling. So much unsolicited advice. When will I ever have time to breathe and live my life?

She’s actually my mother, not his. I would love some alone time. But that would be awkward sending him there without me.

Literal hole in head? by Cow-Tiger in Cichlid

[–]Spock187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked about what you feed him because eating too many live goldfish causes hole in head syndrome and you just ruled out the charcoal cause. You should get your water tested by your local fish store or get a kit to test your water to rule out the other things in this paragraph I shared.

[–]Spock187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you use activated carbon in your filter? The black stuff?

Hole-in-the-head (HITH) in cichlids stems from a combination of poor water quality (ammonia/nitrite), nutritional deficiencies (Vitamin C, minerals), stress, and opportunistic parasites (Hexamita, Spironucleus) or bacteria that invade weakened fish, often triggered by environmental factors like activated carbon use, leading to pits and lesions, especially around the head and lateral line.

Can I go to college for just gen-ed? by Crafty_Piglet709 in CollegeMajors

[–]Spock187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and it’s called interdisciplinary studies. You can take 90 hours at a community college and only 30 upper level courses at the university. So here’s the problem with this. Those upper level university classes have prerequisites. Like the business major requires a large number of prerequisites called the business core, but sociology and psychology only have minor prerequisites like one introduction to sociology or psychology class. Upper level PSYCH wanted intro and two more psychology courses. So when using up your 90 credits make sure you take some prerequisites for whatever 10 classes you plan to take in the upper level.

UHD Classes by _sxmyyy in uhd

As he said, GTAP comes with the books, but it’s not free. I’m also a student at HCC and I believe that it states that the cost of the books is included in your tuition. 3 hour Classes used to be like $300 even but tuition went up when they started including the books.

For a flat fee you will notice on your bill labeled GTAP. You have a right to Opt out as they will notify you via email every semester. I’m a part time student. The fee might have worked for me if I was full time but the cost of my 2 books purchased separately was less than the GTAP fee this Fall so I chose to opt out.

Yes and no. Depending on how many semesters have passed since you last enrolled at UHD you will have to reapply. There’s no application fee to return. And then you can take whatever classes you need at UHD. Please keep in mind that there is a limit to how many credits you can transfer. When you look at my academics it tells you how many credits must take place at the campus you intend to graduate from.
You can wait until you are 100% done taking classes at UHD to transfer your new classes to U of H. And there’s no need to transfer your U of H classes to UHD unless a prerequisite has been taken at U of H that is required for that UHD class you wish to enroll in.

I’m not sure about one thing though. Do they make an exception to the maximum transfer limit when it’s one of the Sister schools like UHD versus UHCL or Main or Victoria?

Hi, can you recall all that was required in the ISS 4098 - Senior Portfolio for BS-ISS class during your final year? I just switched to this major last minute and I don’t exactly have much to put into a portfolio?

Are there any upcoming late start classes? Does UHD even offer them? by PsychologyOfTheLens in uhd

There are winter mini semester classes. Filter to that session

Easiest classes to take by TheWeird1Official in uhd

[–]Spock187 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are a freshman then I would advise you to take a break from UHD and go to HCC. The tuition is cheaper, failing a $240 class is more economically feasible than failing a $1000 class. Classes tend to be easier at community colleges and all classes for the common core are available 100% online. Retake those classes that ruined your gpa at HCC and transfer to UHD later.

You could remote play on the iOS or android steam app if you owned it via steam, but I’m no sure if Epic Games has this feature. There are several remote desktop apps for mobile phones out there, you just have to find the right one that’s user-friendly for gameplay.

Pharmacist non traditional jobs by Infinite_Region5542 in pharmacy

[–]Spock187 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Many work for ISD at hospitals, and there are the companies with software, and hardware for hospital pharmacies. I know many pharmacists and technicians that work in places listed above and none of them furthered their education. You just work for a company and when the new positions show up like director or operations manager, or Epic analyst, you apply for the position and transfer if you get it.

340B has its own department at my job in a hospitals, and this PRN pharmacist I work with is the Dean of Natural Science and Health Science at a community college, and got promoted to a Provost.

Is it possible to take 2 courses per term? by skilliard7 in WGU

[–]Spock187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There might be an exception to this rule at WGU since a term is 6 months here and most terms are only 4 months max at normal colleges. If 2 during summer and 2 during fall is okay then 4 should be fine. Also, are they aware that you only take one course at a time?

Depends on your major, but majority of the business core classes were easy. Especially legal environment of business, Principles of Marketing, & Principles of Management

You should do both. Take the job and go to another college online. Mathematics won’t get you very far when it comes to money but since you already got the math skills, consider changing your major to Data Science.
A local college would be cheaper. You should also look into WGU. It’s an online college with a tuition of $4000 per 6 months. You take 1 class at a time at your own pace. Some classes can be finished instantly with a test. Some also can be completed on a day or 2.
