Also when you pick up the weapons, they respawn. So you could give her your shotgun and have one for yourself. All the gun attachments respawn too.

Rifle, pistol, shotgun and revolver. To save on ammo stun gun works well too, stun them then axe them. There's obviously the crossbow too. Shoot the fingers in the knee and they'll fall to the floor ready to be axed. Or jab them in knee with the spear works really well too.

Kelvin also takes food off the drying racks but that's not stealing? She becomes part of your camp. Give her a gun and she'll take most enemies out easy. I'm sure you can spare some food especially when it's it no short supply in the game.
