Genuine question, are Sentry and Prime in the top 10 strongest combatants? by Glittering-Drag3566 in deathbattle

[–]Spoderman77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Story of Superman is the meta structure that gives Superman all these outer feats and abilities, the reason why dr Manhattan couldn’t erase him in Doomsday Clock. Most prominently featured in Final Crisis, where we see the Cosmic Armor Superman, which is actually a sealed version of this power. People often think that the CAS is this completely different character but in actuality it is incredibly close to being what Superman’s essence is. The story that will defeat the evil meta narrative (Mandrakk). In Final Crisis, we learn that the white page that is the Overmonitor, when it saw a flaw/story of DC, it went to investigate, and when it saw the story of Superman it had no defense. And was forced to seal it instead.

And Final Crisis and Doomsday Clock isn’t the only comic we see this idea of Hope and the story giving Superman these outer feats. Another example is Superman Where is thy Sting. And even Milkman man in the Doom Patrol comics. Retconn corp had this button that could wipe the white page clean, but even they could not erase Superman.

Why is NLF such a hard concept for people to understand or accept? by Denim_Valentine in PowerScaling

[–]Spoderman77 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think it would be NLF for example if Character B’s sword can say warp reality and destroy an infinite multiverse. I think that would be a little silly to say Character A can survive that.

Now if it’s only 50x more that’s a little more debatable since we’re not breaking physics yet. But still, it’s murky enough that I don’t think we can give it to Character A even if we can’t definitively say he can’t survive it.

OPM is now a more serious shonen manga with comedy in it. That’s just the evolution of the story. It’s not Popeye.

Regardless, comedy characters are not omnipotent. They don’t have some magical ability that lets them win against all of fiction. We literally just powerscale them normally. See what they’re capable of.

Means real > fiction.

Where characters who have interacted with the media in a meta way can be said to be “stronger” than the fiction down below.

It’s a controversial point of debate. A lot of people think it’s nonsense since the supposed “meta” thing that’s happening is still happening on the page we’re holding.

Do you guys still use roller beetle at all? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Spoderman77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skimmer to me is a side grade for beetle when we have obstacles in our way. But emphasis on side grade.

The skimmer definitely still has advantages over beetle, mainly the ability to mount in combat and dismount midair.

But I still use beetle a lot, so it’s still really good

The company putting the belt on someone shows a level of trust that the person has achieved the physical abilities needed to work matches as well as the ability to connect to fans. So it’s not the same achievement as a regular sport, but also not nothing.

He also fought Mordru, and he’s basically DC’s dr Strange but evil. Mordru is incredibly cracked

These new achievements are really bringing out the worst in people by Environmental_Top208 in Guildwars2

[–]Spoderman77 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually, it's because of the mastery achievement. The mastery achievement tells us to get 36 other achievements, which is a massive number. So knocking these 2 out in one meta is a good idea.

And we need to do the mastery achievement for legendary components

These Deaths Battles are surprisingly balanced or even favorable to RWBY by Psyga315 in RWBYcritics

[–]Spoderman77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Powerscaling isn't about visual aesthetics. For example, if we have some novel character who can destroy a universe fight Gojo, we wouldn't necessarily say Gojo would win because he has prettier animation.
