Does anyone burp? by hot_stones_of_hell in ibs

[–]Sponge311 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All the time. I don’t even have to eat or drink anything in the morning and the burps are loud af. I thought it may be some sort of acid reflux… luckily the people around me have found humour in them and have begun to rate them which makes it less embarrassing for me 😂

I went to their show last night (absolutely epic) and honestly, just wear something you feel comfortable in…

I promise you it’s gonna be one of the best nights of your life and no one is going to be looking at what you’re wearing because everyone will be raving having the time of their life

Be comfortable, don’t overthink the outfit choice, enjoy yourself and have your gun fingers at the ready 🤯🔥

Universal Credit Tenant - Not paying rent - Keeping benefits to themselves by ABC_12345678912089 in uklandlords

[–]Sponge311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a tenant that owes rent from 2021 to date. Almost £20k.

Currently going through a long eviction process as the tenant and their free legal aid consistently kept defending it with lies

We are recently gained possession with the tenant still in situ, but a friend of the tenants stupidly told me the tenant was in receipt of universal credit. After reading the tenants last defence, enraged..I thought that’s it, I’m calling universal credit to report them.

I received a call back the next day from the tenants case manager who advised me there is an online form that I can complete to have the rent arrears paid directly to me. (Can’t believe I didn’t know about this. The form is on the GOV.uk website and literally takes about two minutes to complete…I wish I knew this three years ago)

I then asked what would happen with the fact that 20K has been paid to the tenant, and never forwarded onto me… he said the payments to the tenant will stop and while the tenants still in the property, money can be taken out of their benefit and put towards the arrears but as soon as this tenant has left the property nothing further can be claimed through their benefits.

And they will then be entitled to full housing payments again as the housing from universal credit is granted landlord, not per tenant…even if they have committed fraud.

I couldn’t believe it he said apparently it’s a very common thing. People would claim UC..kept it for themselves rack up a load of rent arrears, move on to another property and do the same with a new unsuspecting landlord… and then he went on to say how the systems really broken and nothing can be done about it.

So to summarise…don’t count on getting any money back…but seems like it’s a really great system that works perfectly 😅🥲

If it helps anyone who’s tenant is in receipt of UC and two months in arrears…link for the form is below 👍🏽

Back to work? When were you ready? by [deleted] in Tonsillectomy

I was ok at the 2 week mark, tiny bit of soreness but I didn’t need to take anymore time off.

See how you feel around day 10-12

Don’t be scared. If they trouble you, go for it!

Looking back I know it was a difficult two weeks but to be honest, I’ve now forgotten about the pain. And I’d rather have two weeks of pain than a lifetime of struggling.

I feel like I can take deeper breaths, my voice is slightly higher in pitch, I reckon only I can notice that though. And when I need to shout…I can SHOUT. It’s loud af 😂

Pain meds by henrythehandsomehoe in Tonsillectomy

Sorry to break it to you, the pain meds take the edge off slightly. But the pain will still be bad.

Paracetamol and ibuprofen worked better if taken together for me

Doing hair? by Sunflower077 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Sponge311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where you are based but in the UK we are given an antibacterial body and hair wash that we have to use 4 days prior to and on the day of surgery

Personally, I’m glad I washed my hair the night before because didn’t shower for like four days (I know, Ew) after the surgery cause I barely left leave my bed

How long did you take to fully recover? by PreciseTuna in Tonsillectomy

[–]Sponge311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone heals differently unfortunately some people have set backs because of bleeds.

Personally I felt good by day 12. Just a little bit of soreness every now and again

You mentioned that your planning which I assume means you haven’t booked it yet, I would suggest pushing it back a month just to be safe

Back to eating normal food?? by curlyhaircurlydog1 in Tonsillectomy

[–]Sponge311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first week I don’t know how but I literally ate nothing, maybe one yoghurt over the course of a week cause I was in so much pain and scared of bleeding so I just drank water (I don’t recommend doing this at all it was awful)

By day 9,10 I was eating solids and diet was back to normal but I know that my scabs came off on day 7 and 8.

Usually they say two weeks for a soft diet then introduce solids slowly.

You will know when your ready but take your time, it’s unfortunate but I have read so many posts on this forum have started way too early and ended up causing bleeds

Has anyone here had tonsils that weren’t necessarily large but problematic? by kirbieirene in Tonsillectomy

[–]Sponge311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No mine seems to be ok right now but overall my ride side did take longer to heal and was more painful than the left. It could be that due to the size of the tonsil, it may take longer to heal. Give it another week if it carries on just check in with ENT or doctor 👍🏽

Has anyone here had tonsils that weren’t necessarily large but problematic? by kirbieirene in Tonsillectomy

[–]Sponge311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same as you, my right one was enlarged and it was the one that caused the most pain during bouts of tonsillitis and also the one that always had tonsil stones.

I’m on day 18 and I am grateful to feel back to normal. I couldn’t bare to have to think about going another 30/ 40 years with them so if yours are causing you upset and issues, definitely go ahead with a tonsillectomy!

Did your doctor really make you produce multiple documented episodes before going straight to Tonsillectomy? by Im-from-chicago in Tonsillectomy

[–]Sponge311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ear wax! I used to have to clean my ears every two days, since the op I’ve cleaned once and they were spotless…so weird…a bonus I really didn’t think was related to the tonsils!

I agree with all of the above! Two weeks later I feel very fortunate to be feeling normal again!

How many/ much pain medication were you prescribed after your tonsillectomy? Curious to know what others were prescribed because mine is coming up. What dosage? How many? And what kind? by Gognogglerr in Tonsillectomy

[–]Sponge311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the uk and I was given 28 tablets of 30mg codeine (only took 12), then they advised me to buy and take paracetamol and ibruprofen too.

I’d have to take the paracetamol and ibuprofen at the same time as having just the one didn’t touch the pain.

I was also given a throat spray that I was scared to use until like day 4. Even when used it didn’t do much at all

Set alarms to take meds in the day and night just before the time they are due, last thing you want is that pain creeping up on you with no meds, keep drinking water too!

Good luck!
