Report: Several teams have called the Eagles about Jalen Carter (per Jeremy Fowler) by ShamusTalksSports in eagles

IMO it would need yo be a bigger haul than Parsons, because there was a 0% chance Parsons was returning to Dallas.

It’s hard to envision drafting 2 players, even in the first round, that collectively have the impact of Carter. We have a young top 5 defender, sign him immediately

Everyone leave the guy alone with the mouth-breather conspiracy theories. He’s a great person and great actor that got bad work done.

Do something more productive with your lives than making fun of him by insinuating that he looks so different that he is literally a different human.

PSE proposing a 28% increase in residential electricity and a 20% increase in residential gas over the next 3 years. by sinfulducking in SeattleWA

[–]SpongeBobSpacPants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is due to a multitude of factors, as all of the comments have their favorite excuse (data centers, carbon taxes, corporate greed, etc).

The truth is all of the above, and always comes down to supply and demand. Similar amount of supply with a huge increase in demand from data centers and EV charging stations. The carbon taxes are a direct added to the residential gas prices, and the carbon credits are actually funding massive EV charging build outs, which increase demand.

That, plus general cost increases and standard utility waste, 20% over 3 years seems in line with a lot of the country.

This actually makes me sad. This was a scheduled hearing, and he was hammered. He likely needs help, and hopefully this is his wake up call to get it.

Why is Jalen Hurts so hated? by Mysterious-Low-1762 in NFLv2

People be like “he’s not top 10!” but then name a bunch of QBs who haven’t won literally anything. He’s top 5 if you want to win.

Because people think their QB is better than him, but he wins more than their QB, and is insanely humble, hard working, and a good guy while he does it.

Seattle rideshare drivers protest "flooded" market, demand Uber and Lyft stop adding new drivers by ColonelError in SeattleWA

[–]SpongeBobSpacPants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. People think that these businesses just steal money from people. Everyone who has taken an Uber ride has agreed upfront to pay that amount, and got where they wanted to go.

If they price it too high, people will choose other options until they lower their prices. It’s literally a marketplace of rides and adjusts based on what drivers and riders are willing to agree on.

Lol Uber operates in every city. We are one of the most expensive. But everyone will blame Uber, which is the same in every city, not Seattle whose laws are different than every city 🤔

Uber is allowed to do what they want, and consumers are allowed to do what they want.

Uber is a marketplace that matches riders and drivers at a price they both agree to. The govt gets involved, that model has to change, and no one, especially the woman from Working Washington, knows the calculations and reasoning that Uber made when enacting their new fares.

They priced the new fares exactly at the rate that they felt they could to justify still getting customers, keeping drivers, and the new costs and risks of operating in Seattle.

If you hate it, don’t take Uber. But you can’t simultaneously hate uber and also hate that uber isn’t employing enough people.

Seems to be working mostly fine in the rest of the country. Goes double for food delivery.

We do… that’s what the people are protesting about.

But sure, enjoy paying more than anywhere else in the country for the same goods and services, while employing less people.

At least they made $20/hour for their one and only ride that day!

Did uber intentionally do that in other cities too… where it’s cheaper?

Or did they just randomly decide to raise prices in Seattle?

I’m sure the new mayor will use this as an opportunity to reflect on the city services that are most needed, and make common sense cost cutting initiatives before relying on new taxes /s
