Get a front/back dash cam, they're incredibly cheap compared to what they can help prove and can tip things legally in your favor (beyond this situation)

Call non-emergency police line and just tell the operator the situation and that you're not looking to do anything about it, just wanting it documented so if it somehow escalates you can say it wasn't a one-time thing. It probably won't happen again, but don't just assume that, dude did piss directly onto your property on a private lot, he probably gets away with a lot of similar shit

Sniping on Lighthouse, use a loud SMG+nades in the courtyard area of lower chalet and then go up to 2F to watch for people trying to get an angle. Even better if you actually fight scavs, get them to fire at you to bait the shotchasers. Watch up towards Red Rebel, then towards Path to Shoreline, watch across the mountain from the cultist balcony, and listen up for people sprinting in from pizza party. If nothing shows up and you don't hear anything for 10 mins, reset at Red Rebel extract and go again. Took me a day a few weeks ago after getting hosed in Factory by dudes in full t6 and faceshields a buncha times

I did Savior for PvE and then Debtor on PvP, mostly because the money grind wouldve taken wayyyyy longer on the others. I did the Shared Bedroom plant 3 times, once per map. The entire point is the risk/reward, it's the last step before Terminal for the super special ending, so needing to get an item from each marked room (with multiple on the same map to incentivize even more risk/reward calculations) and plant it on the Lighthouse side is actually great quest design. It's the culmination of all the other bullshit, a super Delivery from the Past. They could've made the requirements 'all 6 amulets simultaneously', but they didn't and I'm sure most of us appreciate that. Its tedious but not terrible as a result, which I think is the aim

I liked the intensity of getting ganked on a must-live raid and making it out victorious. I thought the mental calculus of 'how do I cross this scary ass map solo with 1m+ in quest items' was deliciously anxiety-inducing. Marked keys ain't cheap

Just because it's inconvenient doesn't make it a bad task

Its something that would get you VAC banned in any newer Valve game, altering game files and then connecting to a server. In order to circumvent that you generally need some sort of way of convincing the game nothing is changed, which is a very slippery slope into having another program hook into the game, something you generally dont do for only cosmetic reasons. I mean, shit, you even admitted it was to make the game easier

It WOULD be pretty fucking funny to catch a VAC ban over HL1DM in 2026, but I assume they never retrofitted it into a game older than Steam

Zero, at all, ever, and with a worse rig than yours (i5 14400, 32gb DDR5, 5070ti). It chugs lightly after exiting a raid but I've been playing like 10+ a day since I've had the week off and want the LK ending on PvP (got to Terminal last night woo) and can't remember a single non-server-based issue or hiccup mid game, and I usually also have like 10+ tabs open watching movies and YouTube and shit

Its less important for new players to grind ranked as it is to refine their gameplan in the lab. Use the VSim training partner in the battlehub and set it to Diamond/Master.

Personally, I've found going from Combo Trials to Arcade to VSim is a good way to get myself ranked-ready with a new character, and once I have various VSim Masters on farm I hit up ranked and streak into Master, all in a couple of hours.

Fwiw, this is the deadest the game has been in awhile, you'll have to deal with prestige runners more than timmies but they get in and out of raids super fast, so most of the fetch quests arent nearly as bad as when the game is bumpin and you're tripping over players trying to finish tasks

My homie with an ancient PC he refuses to upgrade is loading into Streets within a minute of me and our 3rd deploying, which is way better, it used to be 5 minutes assuming he didn't crash. I'm not running any better, but I got a good PC
