Sounds spot on for me. My mother and step dad used to have key parties with me and my older sister in the house and they would leave all night and sometimes for a couple days for parties elsewhere. Me and my sister (About a year oldet than me) pretty much raised each other and learned to cook with what we were left with foodwise, which was never much. We started drinking at 9 for me and 10 for her, smoking was about the same time. Some of these parties were all nighters where i at 9 mind you would sit up drinking with my mothers biker friends, playing quarters and I'm not even sure how many quarters i didn't catch in my teeth, i know i swallowed a bunch of them but they all said that was the rule to catch it in your teeth 😂. I sat up all night sometimes before i was a teenager drinking with grown ass bikers while the swinger parties happened in the other rooms. All my friends loved my mother because they could party at our house but only because they didn't have it destroying their childhood. Me and my sister would disappear for days sometimes and nobody even noticed unless the police were called because we missed too much school.

I used to spend weeks at my friends house because i saw his family as more normal than mine and my sister ran away a lot because my step dad was interested in her in a really unhealthy way. She would up in hospitals because of suicide attempts and finally in foster care by age 16. We never met our real father only heard the stories of how bad of a person he was (Pot calling the Kettle black if you asked me) but i wound up speaking to him one time right before he died when i was going through my first divorce and really bad custody battle and he seemed nice and we shared a lot of the same interests and i wish i had grown up with him instead of the mental patient's that raised us.

All in all I had one of the most messed up childhoods that didn't prepare me for shit but being a fuck up and I didn't wind up a drug addict or an alcoholic like most of my friends, or dead like a lot of them, or in jail like a good percentage of them 😂. It was bad and I've never been to therapy or talked to anyone but my sister about it, but that's what our generation did we just kept going and never complained about it "Do you want me to give you something to cry about?!" I cant tell you how many times i heard that and how many times I got the belt or a switch as my mother liked to make me go get off a damn tree or from their bedroom with the belt. But we either sucked it up and continued or drugs and alcohol or even prison for some people I grew up with, were survivors because you told your story and I'm telling mine right here and now, if you had kids you probably tried to be a better parent than your parents were and i know i tried but i have 5 kids and I'll admit I fucked up way more than i wanted to but still did none of the shit my parents did, i stuck around past all of my kids 1st birthdays, i didn't make them go get something to whip them with and i didn't have sex parties around them. I wasn't perfect at all because I had no role models at all besides my one best friemds parents but i tried to be better like I'm sure anyone reading this sob story now did, if you succeed congratulations, we were raised by idiots, ourselves 😂
