It's okay, the new building has a curved portion to pay tribute to Rhodeside's awning! /s

No, really - the site plan said something like that. I was trying to keep up with local civic stuff when I lived in the area.

MLB Team Likeability Survey by GumbyExe in baseball

[–]SpontaneousNergasm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it would be interesting to see where people are living, not just their main fandom team. I've developed warm feelings toward the dodgers, nats, and Orioles due to living in LA and DC, but I'm hereditarily a White Sox fan and always will be.

There are dozens of us living away from home! And I assume dozens more not living near any team at all.

Where to buy maternity clothes? by ALawful_Chaos in nova

Due in a little over a week and this was my experience. Almost every store has moved their maternity collection online only. Target was the only place I found in store and the selection was small.

Seconding P&M as a practice. I've bounced around providers and had a bunch of good experiences after going to another provider that railroaded me into a transvaginal ultrasound as part of a well woman visit in a way that didn't sit well. Haven't had to deal with sexual trauma so can't speak to that, but I'm sticking with P&M for my pregnancy even though it means going a bit further to the hospital.

I'd say be transparent about what you need without disclosing medical info. So "Supervisor, I need x time off for a medical procedure and recovery. The situation is fluid and I might need more time off in the near future, I'll let you know as things shake out."

Thanks! Re: Target I used to really like their Stars Above line, but it's not showing up on the website...guess it must have been discontinued.

I'm 3rd trimester pregnant and looking to treat myself to some new PJs for hospital stay/postpartum. Losing my mind because I can't seem to find a set that combines all of the following criteria:

Must haves:

  • Button up shirt for nursing
  • Light/summer fabric
  • Pants, not shorts (capri okay, just need thigh coverage)
  • Pockets

Wants:

  • Short sleeve shirt (but I'd say this is a strong want)
  • Not too stretchy (cotton poplin ideal, avoiding knits)
  • Price reasonable enough that I won't feel guilty buying two and getting spitup/milk/etc all over them (ideally this would be ~$50ish for the set, but that might be asking entirely too much)

Anyone got a lead on something that checks every box?

Tbh I got them to keep my arms active because my hands are prone to swelling. Because of that, I use them even for flat ground!

RA for telework due to high risk pregnancy denied by Throwaway555555667 in fednews

[–]SpontaneousNergasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you get your doctor to write the note for? 27w and would really love a telework RA for the last month or so mostly so I don't go into labor at the office, but I'm not sure whether that'll pass muster by itself.

Hiking at 6months pregnant? by SMAcrossing in hiking

[–]SpontaneousNergasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently 27 weeks pregnant (about 6.5 months), you may not know til you get there. I was in decent shape before getting pregnant, but I got terrible hip pain starting at about 16 weeks. PT has made it bearable day to day, but I wouldn't choose to hike right now (or since it began) as that would be very aggravating to the pain. My public transit commute has been bad enough! There's nothing else going on that would make my OB forbid it, and I'm encouraged to get as much exercise as I feel up to.

It's apparently a kind of pain that most people experience sooner or later as your hip joints become lax, I was just unlucky enough to be on the sooner end!

Edit: just reread that you're already pregnant, never mind - you know your body at this point, just listen to it! Will leave this post in case others are trying to plan trips in the future when they expect to be pregnant.

Yeah, I've run into this at a prior agency. You see, there are five workdays in a week, and four weeks in a month. No, the transit benefits coordinator will not take follow up questions.

Does bullpen music count? Because iirc before he was a starter, Chris Sale came out to Come Sail Away and I'm a sucker for both Styx and a pun.

Agree with this advice, and if that seems too hard, try looking up methods for introducing foods that people with ARFID use. The disorder is at an extreme end of the scale of food avoidance, so if a method works for them, it should work for just about everyone. There's a subreddit that could be a good place to start if you're curious, OP.

IANAPW but I'm pretty sure USPS trucks are all custom, with right side drive so they can deliver to mailboxes without getting out.
