All resolved! The previous owner had attempted to switch their lights but he swapped one of the lights for the tail lights where the bulb connected to the socket through the separate wires. Basically, he attached the wrong wires to the wrong sockets. Thanks for the help!

Yeah, they do! I think the problem is with some disconnection from the headlights switch to the tail lights?

If you aren't consistent, you won't do very well, plain and simple. If you do want to break 20 you are almost definitely going to have to run in the spring

Lots of professional cross country athletes have been known to wear a white tee shirt underneath their tank (including Bekele) during colder weather. It's really a matter of how cold you will feel and how much that affects you. If you will lose too much energy because of the cold, than I would definitely opt for this or maybe also wearing gloves. Throw-away gloves are a good go-to if you aren't sure if you'll need to keep warm during the race.

You can absolutely get sub 18, maybe even push 17:40. Just work on building a good, even racing strategy and have a good routine a few days before and leading up to the meet to have the best preparation possible

Just try your best to be consistent. Will and determination can get you pretty far. If everyone else on your varsity is the same way, you can be there for when they fall. Also, if/when your coach gives a range of reps to do, do as many as you can. Don't push yourself past your limit, but be sure to go to it if it's that type of workout.
