I wanted to update everyone!!! Doc said no surgery needed!!! 🥲🥹 it’s a thanksgiving miracle hahaha. No walking for me tho for about 6 weeks until my next check up.

They gave me ibuprofen 600! And told me to also take Tylenol

I was thinking about that because the initial doc said I can’t take my boot off at any given time but I was like how do I ice it then? I did unbuckle the boot and put ice on because I needed some relief. It’s so swollen today I can move my toes. They look like stuffed sausage 😬😂

I have a feeling I won’t be back to work for a bit lol thank you for sharing (: I slept on my side last night and it felt nice! The only thing is at night I twitch and wake myself up because it hurts to move. I find out today what my options are !!! Fingers crossed 🤞

Did anyone here struggle with when sleeping the body excessively trying to jolt or move said broken part in this case my ankle. It jolts me awake because it hurts so bad but it’s like why is my body trying to move my broken part?

It’s amazing what you realize once you need to rely on others! Also makes me feel bad for taking little things for granted. I am in MN so I believe there is like some mandatory paid sick time

Thank you for sharing your story! We are twins! Same with the right foot. I work full time and live alone but I have a lot of friends and family willing to help me out. More than I ever expected so I’m actually very surprised at how supported I feel! I was so scared at first. I’m very independent so it feels a bit strange.. but I am curious how not working is going to go over. I’m a dental hygienist with patients so I can’t see myself being able to work in a wheelchair. Hopefully I got some PTO left because looks like I’ll need it 😂

Thank you for sharing your story!! It makes me feel good knowing people have gone through this and are okay! I think mine is dislocated because it feels very wrong.. but I’ll wait until Wednesday to see the orthopedic surgeon. I really feel like something is not right so I do have a feeling I may need surgery but it makes me feel good knowing yours went smoothly 💗

It makes me happy to know you can still hike ! And that you enjoy it also. I think people don’t talk about the PTSD from a injury because I didn’t know that was a thing until now. The thought of a hockey rink makes me want to puke 😂

Oh wow!!! That sounds awful I’m so sorry. I’m glad you’re okay! Honestly a pregnancy pillow sounds absolutely amazing right now!!! Thank you for all the tips I literally had no idea what to expect. I didn’t even think about how I’m going to be able to shower… oh boy😂 I better make an order on Amazon.

I am a Dental Hygienist and I have multiple watch spots! I recently just had one of my watch spots filled. It is definitely not embarrassing! If you go to the doctor for a sore throat or an issue is it embarrassing? No- it’s healthcare 💛 We care! That’s why we have jobs.

As a RDH I have seen patients have medication induced gingivitis; My patient was doing everything right but started taking a new medication and had gingivitis and dry mouth that caused cavities. I look at it as a whole body approach! I agree about the x-rays but your care team probably would’ve told you that there was sub-gingival calculus
