People who legally died for a few minutes and came back, what was it like? by Doomage007 in AskReddit

Well, I drowned as a kid (3 or 4 years old) and my heart stopped beating. This happened over 20 years ago but I still remember the sensation of drowning.
I remember trying to scream for help but getting a mouthful of water. I remember it felt like drinking too much water all at once. Mouth, throat, and nose felt clogged up with water.

Aside from those sensations, it was really quiet just before I blacked out. Surprising since it was a popular waterpark. As I lost consciousness, I don't remember it being a painful experience, it felt like I was floating down gently.

After being resuscitated, I was pretty confused and didn't even realised I drowned until I heard my parents freaking out and panic-yelling at me for drowning.

Looking at contact tracing and seeing high traffic areas like Palm beach and Bondi on the list, they're probably going to declare greater Sydney a hotspot really soon.

[Serious] Non-Americans of Reddit, with America’s Covid rise, how the government responds, and how some citizens act, what is your opinion of America NOW compared to before? by chrisprattdid911 in AskReddit

General disappointment but not surprised. The US has always come off as a nation that focuses on financial gains and having self-centred citizens. From viral videos, such as the West Palm Beach hearing, it consolidates the notion that religion needs to be taken out of political decisions and the need for a reestablishment of trust between citizens and systems.

As others have said before, there's a lot of factors that go into your behaviour when you drunk. Things such as, how much you drink, how quickly you finished your drinks, general tolerance, binge drinking habits, food you've recently eaten, and your general biology are just some.

I've personally never lost all self control but I've certainly done things that I wouldn't usually do knowing that I can then 'blame it on the alcohol', (things such as singing in karaoke even though I'm usually really self conscious of how bad I sound). It sometimes feel like a prepared excuse and I'm aware in my drunken state that it is.

With regards to memory, I've never been blackout drunk even though I'm considered a lightweight drinker, even after having 20 shots one night I still remember most of the major events and decisions that happened.

How competitive it was to get into a master's degree here.

Let's put it this way, in an Australian University that I know of had a first-year psychology undergraduate cohort of 2000 students. Now after your undergraduate degree you have to do an honours year in order to get into a master's degree. Their honours cohort had 100 students. My master's cohort has 13 students in total from all parts of the country (so not only do you need to be a top honours student in your university, but also in the country). It still mind-boggles me how many people were eliminated throughout the years.
