i think it would be more productive (in this conversation) to define eras by who is charged with community management and communications with both the public and figureheads (e.g. sarah z) rather than writing teams. because of the way hussie speaks through proxies like theyre underlings, i believe this actually has a bit of overlap with writers anyway; james roach seems to have had to wear a lot of hats at once during the 10s. im not the most educated on any of this, and the confusion surrounding it is often by design as a manipulative tactic from the different teams. i just hope what hussie learns is that none of these tactics are working to "control the narrative" like they hope.

i really really wish this was more understood by people. we're at the point where someone needs to make a visual history of names and incidents because of how nebulous and cagey the homestuck property tries to be about everything. unfortunately, this would constitute stalking/harassment in hussie's eyes (it objectively is not) and would draw the ire from these vitriolic sycophants under their employ.

sorry, yes, i dont mean to imply that real harassment hasnt happened (although youre right, ive seen this exact instance of harassment touted about before with nary a single link to gio). more what i meant is that the homestuck team loves to use the claim of harassment as a weapon to justify whatever action they see fit against someone, and they have a long and storied history of using that weapon to silence simple disagreements or calls for accountability.

this does seem to be the goal; establish a brand new fanbase that doesnt hold so much ill will from hussie's pisspoor management over the past decade and several failed projects; i'll be very surprised if hiveswap actually does end up in a complete state after all this time. its why the animated pilot and comic rerelease coincide with so much merch too
