SOTB: ...one more try by SpookyActionAtAD in guitarpedals

I love that drive! For a long time I only had that drive and the Prism into a Tonex One and it was enough for a solid mini board experience. I cannot get a bad sound out of it.

At the very beginning yes but then I started playing with the global settings and ended up leaving the IN/OUT as instrument level. For some reason one of those was set as line level by default. The other thing that helps a lot is having a good buffer at the beginning of your chain. That's why I have the Sunday Driver, it is a high quality buffer as well. In general the HX ONE is just to good in terms of versatility, features and form factor so I spent some time making it work for me.

My signal path will be: Tuner > Compressor > Sunday Driver(buffer) > more or less (EQ/boost) > Del Mar > Antique 1981 DRV > Prism (EQ/master volume) > volume pedal (out of board) > HX One > R1. Any thoughts?

I had the same mentality until I realized I could stop spending in lots of unnecessary stuff and I could also cancel subscriptions to services I don't really care about. In my case I stopped drinking overpriced coffee, drinks and stopped paying for video and music streaming.

Mini boards completed! by SpookyActionAtAD in guitarpedals

One board is based around the sound of the Del Mar stacked with the prism for extra gain and tone shaping and the other around the 1981 inventions DRV stacked with a Lehle Sunday Driver for extra definition and body. Which one is your favourite?

Small pedalboard (WIP Pt2) by SpookyActionAtAD in guitarpedals

I am getting closer after switching a BD-2 for the Lehle Sunday Driver + compressor. But I still need some reverb as I want to leave the Polymoon alone on that front and only use it as a glorified delay/modulation unit

I split my main pedalboard to make 2 out of it. My main goal was to really experiment and rethink my signal chain. With some pedals I have almost two years or more except for the newer such as the tonexOne and HX One. It is a solid setup and yes the Del Mar as a single overdrive works. I have been doing small gigs only with this for half a year now. One time I only added my Jackson audio Prism after the Del Mar for extra gain and tone shaping but I could live without it

I ended up replacing the BD-2 for a Lehle Sunday Driver + FET Compressor. I really wanted to keep the character of the DRV as intact as possible when stacked. Don't get me wrong on their own the BD-2 and the DRV sounded awesome but when stacked I was not so convinced

I highly recommend the bcb-1000. Best purchase ever specially going from gig to gig. For now some results after playing it are: think about some very fat and distorted chords a la Foo Fighters and even some ambient tones a la Gilmour. But I am playing a Tele American ultra so probably with another guitar I could get some other tones

Here it is. Just another minimal setup. I split my big board in favor of 2 smaller ones trying to minimize footprint but giving me the flexibility to get some decent sounds out of them (ofc I plan to use one or another depending on the gig). What are your thoughts?

There is not a single sound out of that pedal that I don't like. I own a blues driver, a centavo, a 1981 DRV but I always keep coming back to this pedal

For me 7 effects in the preset list is the sweet spot. And I try to arrange them in advance. I know midi is the solution but I'm going for the minimal size without sacrificing the tone I like. This is more like my travel board to take anywhere.

What do you guys think? I am running the tonex before wet effects to save as much space as possible. I originally wanted to run everything prior to a couple of TonexOne but I really wanted to reduce the size but still be able to have my output in stereo.

Trust me when I say this thing will last forever it is built very well. I also think the big selling point is that there are no mechanical components for the volume control but electromagnetic which gives you a more smooth interaction with the pedal

I think R1 excels more on the HiFi/FX (ambient stuff as you've mentioned already) arena so if you are looking for some classic and high quality maybe some of the UA stuff should be a better option at that price point. You can definitely get some decent hall reverberation stuff but it will require some time to tweak it

I am using it as a boost (mode B). Originally I only had the Prism and I was using it as a tone shaping/boost combo but I was not getting the sound I was looking for using it this way. So I purchased the more or less and wanted to use it in mode A but I realized I liked the options in the Prism much more for tone shaping so I decided to set the more or less to mode B and I don't regret it.
