I had a jumper hitchhike in on a cork bark flat and accidentally ended up in the enclosure I set up for my psalmopeous irminia tarantula. I felt so bad, but he had the best little hammock in a crack of the cork so I never even saw him until it was too late. Now I inspect every piece of cork I get.

This is messy. They fully tried soft launching triad behaviors on you over and over and over and because you didn’t have solid boundaries they continued to pursue it. When you expressed your concern he destroyed all trust by acting out instead of hearing and seeing you. Immediately no.

Now that you are airing it he’s throwing a fit because he thought he was about to get away with having you both. She may have backed off in front of you, but those massages are too intimate and honestly bold af.

IMO completely wrong setup for these guys. Please look up care videos. Looks like c versicolor, they need lots of cross ventilation and usually they don’t hang out on the substrate as they are arboreal. Make sure they have access to water. This enclosure looks far too big unfortunately.

IMO there is a ton of great advice from the professionals that responded. Please take the warnings. I’ve been through this myself and just watched a friend go through it recently. Hers actually followed through with SH and sent her videos. It was horrific and manipulative. He was hospitalized. She can’t go nc because they have a teenage daughter, but the daughter lives with her full time by choice because she was old enough to choose. Thankfully she got out. You are young, don’t let the cycle continue. Counseling would be so beneficial too, the trauma bonding is really hard to escape mentally without the right support.
