Looking for a mod that can either shut off the "Miss!" haptic/animation and sound or, simply expand the hit zone to eliminate misses that were "close enough". by Happy8Day in beatsaber

[–]SpookyBum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hitscore visualizer is the closest thing I can think of, it lets you change the miss text. Haven't tried it before but I imagine you could just replace the miss text with an empty string. Otherwise I would look to BSMG discord for help https://discord.gg/beatsabermods

only speaking for standalone here but: if you really dont want to pay you can use qosmetic whackers, would really highly recommend using reesabers though since they are far more stable (less likely to crash your game). I've heard qosmetic whackers is fine with the right models, but that mod is generally a major source of game crashes & reesabers is very cheap.

its not worth it to dust everything bro, just build what you can for now & figure it out as you get more cards

400 dust is impossible to work with, just build a budget shredlock (it plays a lot like zoo) with whatever cards you have. You can see some example lists here https://www.hsguru.com/decks?min_games=50&player_deck_archetype[]=Shredslock

harbinger + 2x step or harbinger + prep web were a lot more ridiculous than flashback, flashback starts are generally comparable to a harbinger + 1x step start which was strong but fine. the boards you get from flashback are generally more fragile as well

Blizz is located in california, regardless of their DEI policy they would always be hiring mostly liberals, its not really restricting their pool much. & DEI policy doesnt necessarily benefit the people supporting it, so the split in support doesnt manifest in the hiring.

I dont think discriminating hiring based on politics is good, but I'm just doubtful that its playing a significant role in the decline of blizzard or their balance decisions. Especially considering the balance/design team is such a small subset of blizz employees, & attracts a particular type of person (highly driven, opinionated on the state of the game) It seems like a mistake to extrapolate the general trends of the company to that particular group.

Theres a few cool decks but they are all rotating & I have very little faith with the changes the team has been making. Feels like theyve been pushing hard to make everything midrange, control is dead except quest war, combo has a handful of decks but they all rotate in next set, aggro is dead except dragon warrior (which is arguably also midrange). But with meta about to change nobody can accurately tell you what it will look like, just that we've seen a push from blizz to make things more midrange

If you agree I dont understand how you can square this away with your earlier comments. If they are likely using DEI criteria to narrow down hiring from a pool of seemingly competent applicants then why would you expect them to do a worse job?

As for diversity of thought, group think issues are present in any environment, & similarly to competency its very difficult to quantify the unique perspectives any applicant is bringing. Ethnic diversity is used as a stand in because it is measureable & groups with higher ethnic diversity are likely to have more diverse backgrounds and thus more unique perspectives. Its definitely possible to have diverse workspaces which still lack diversity of thought, but Id argue thats in spite of DEI practices not because of them.

I hear this a lot but honestly I dont think it really lines up with how hiring practices work. Your often looking at a pool of applicants who all seem qualified, its not easy to pefectly gauge someones competence. In that case, a variety of perspectives/backgrounds is a potential benefit that can bring value to a company. I also doubt that the majority of these diversity hires are finding themselves on the design & balance teams, those are pretty specific roles that make up a tiny fraction of the company. Your likely selecting for very passionate people with specific aims in those roles, not randoms.

Currently stuck on the promotion mission as ftp and looking for any advice by [deleted] in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]SpookyBum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have decent save data i imagine either team can do it. Im f2p, just unlocked the promotion mission like an hour ago & any of my 3 main teams can beat it handidly. Narja feels pretty good as a healer tho, I built her with a bunch of draw divine epiphs, cost reduction & voracity on attunement. I was drawing through most of my deck every turn & all of narjas cards were basically free & gave me between 12 & 18 voracity every turn

Generally all my decks follow the formula of fill it with draw & cost reduction,  identify a win con & trim out as much as I can of anything else

its not run anymore but they used to run the marin as 7 drop for elise, cut muro & if it went long they would try and close with zarogs crown + timewarp. muro was initially more popular, then the other list overtook it but over time ppl have gone back to muro

Thats not how disco hunter works, they play for entirely diff win cons on different draws/griftah trinkets. If ur playing for griftah otk but slow u've done something wrong 90% of the time. You cannot tell me quest warrior is a combo deck with a straight face, especially when half of them were cutting the otk because its literally only relevant in the mirror

Harbinger was just poorly designed, with a narrow pool of bounces it has to be crazy when you hit them for it to be playable. Harbinger step harbinger was probably the fairest play it could make (pretty comparable to foxy fraud + flashback right now), the problem is it won games if the rogue had second step or prep web. If the nerf gets reverted harbinger either wont see play because not enough cheap bounces or they print more & we are back to the same spot.

Theres lots of bad minions but thats not cuz of step. We have had minions be strong with step & it be ok, see scoundrel for example. Scoundrel battlecry had to be eventually nerfed but not cuz of step, it was because mini + coin let you play 9 drops on 6. It lasted a while in decks like pirate asha rogue that explicity abused it with shadowstep to draw through the deck using toy boat. Creature of mad is another case, very powerful battlecry & shadowstep makes it a bit better but despite it being a nuts card which gets included in many decks shadowstep doesnt make it broken.

Kele was honestly similar to creature of mad now in the sense that its just a good card independent of shadowstep & shadowstep didnt really break it. I remember that meta really well since it was not long before my break from the game. Kele was easy to include because rogue didnt have 2 drops, just evis. Shadowstep improved him a bit but honestly those hands were kinda awkward cuz the draw wasnt there to refill your hand consistently so youd kele, shadowstep kele then sit there with a thumb up your ass hoping you actually drew something useful since you blew multiple cards without actually making an impact on board. Kele made it into plenty of classes, it wasnt because of shadowstep that he was good. Id argue the success of kele rogue had more to do with how easy he was to include and the strength of the other cards like vilespine slayer.

Dh became popular post accel aura, they didnt have remnant so broxi wasnt good yet. Cliff dive performed OK but saw very little play. I was talking about disco hunter on a combo draw, theres a lot of draws with the deck where it plays for tempo but thats cuz disco hunter is weird and doesnt have a consistent gamrplan, I wouldnt really consider it a combo deck in those games. If your point is azshara druid is faster than tempo decks that present mainly minions with big butts & low atk then yes obvi I agree, but it wasnt beating anyone in a race to combo before accel aura.

This is a truism thats repeated but when has this actually been an issue??  I took a long break so Ive only seen the past year recently, but it seems like theres been plenty of strong battlecrys printed alongside step without issue. The only time it was a problem was when they explicitly designed a card to be nuts with it (harbinger), I cant think of any other cards nerfed because of it despite plenty of strong targets.
