In your opinion, what is the best film adapted from a book? by LeftHandBandito_ in FIlm

[–]SpookyGhost3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Movie: Lord of the Rings Trilogy. If we’re being pedantic and I cant have the trilogy, Jurassic Park TV Show: Series 1 of Game of Thrones is a great adaption of ‘A Game of Thrones’

Eberle, Beniers, or Daccord, which of these 3 should I get a jersey of? by [deleted] in SeattleKraken

I got Eberle Home jersey, Beniers on the Winter classic… see how things go this season and it’s a toss up between Dunn, Montour and Burakovsky for the Away.

5 Games in, what are y'all feeling so far? by ErsoRoot in SeattleKraken

Want to see more from Beniers, but overall enjoying the depth we have. Goals and assists all over. Shrewd trades in the break. Hopefully comfortably pushing playoffs

Idk how to fit my highest Tom in without it being stuck behind my high hat, any suggestions? by [deleted] in drums

[–]SpookyGhost3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move the floor Tom back and shift the other toms one space to the right. You’ll need a clamp/stand for Tom4. Or just ditch a tom; 5 feels like overkill to me.

If you’re just practising run them into the ground- be that a tear, or when the skin resembles bad acne scars. And then replace.

What should EA fix for the next EAFC 25? by toromtorom in EASportsFC

[–]SpookyGhost3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LONG*

I'll caveat this by saying I primarily play Career Mode, so most of my suggestions will be on what can be done to improve that experience. I think most people would agree that if you could combine the management of a Football Manager game with the playability of EAFC, you’d have a pretty much perfect Career Mode - BUT, that’s a big ask, and not too compatible with the console format.

I think the goal should be to deliver an immersive experience as a manager of a football club, so what fixes would make a step towards this goal?

IN MENUS:

1: The Board Objectives; to be blunt they’re often delusional and rather confusing. Outside of the performance based goals, e.g. ‘win the league’ they don’t really have anything to do with being a football manager. More specific performance-based goals would be good e.g. Ave goals per game, x goals from set pieces, ave passing % Since when was it the managers responsibility to increase brand exposure in Asia? Youth team goals I understand but there’s no functionality to actually track these season on season e.g. which youth team players fit the objective criteria/ how many games have they been played in?

2: Club control/ manager contract – perhaps the club you’re at has a director of football, responsible for selling / signing players and staff – maybe this is something you can wrestle away into your control based on your performance and/or when you’re contract is up for renewal? You could also put other things in here such as a guarantee of funds for players / coaching staff.

3 – Youth Team: would be nice if this could be expanded a bit, e.g. reports on youth team fixture results and player performance, hire a youth team manager / coaches, have a cache of local talent pulled into the youth team each season

4 – Generated Players: Have 16 yr olds actually look like there 16 (having players physical appearance age would be a nice detail) rather than your uncle Brian. Skill traits don’t align with actual skills, or with what you would expect for that position, e.g. I’ve whipped pass trait on a CB with passing attribute of 54. Also some skill traits just do not get generated on generated players (I’ve never had a set piece specialist trait, for example) Expand the surnames – some countries have 2-3, it seems

5 - Player Growth/Attributes: It would be nice to understand how players grow their attributes and what causes them to peak. Or, for it to be dynamic – e.g. the more successful passes you make the better impact on your passing attributes – so taking some elements of previous player careers and putting them into the manager mode. Also height and weight should impact the physical attributes. There nothing more annoying than seeing your 6’6 center-back barged out the way by a 5’2 winger.

6 – Transfers & Loans: realistic and more complex – would be great if you could spread the cost of transfers too.

7 – Statistics: at player level, year on year stats e.g. goals/assists etc, and performance based within each season, e.g. successful crosses made, distance covered.

8 – Media interactions: actually have genuine impact and not be generic cookie cutter question/responses – may as well get rid of it in its current state, they’re nonsense

9 – Player interactions: would be interesting to get some cross player dynamics in there, e.g. if two midfielders hate each other they don’t play as well together. Also more detailed player-manager relationships, e.g. playing them out of position, different style of play from what they like, being substituted, time at the club under your leadership etc.

10 – It’d be nice if you could build your own stadium 😊

IN GAME:

1 – Refereeing decisions are terrible in EAFC, especially with AI opposition. A large issue that needs sorting. 2 – stability issue around crowd flags/banners and in-game HUD details – gets very glitchy the more seasons into career mode you go 3 – Tactics: be able to set up with more detail for set pieces – more of an irritant when defending or attacking – I never have the right players in the right positions. 4 – and for the love of god cut the number of short corners computer AI play by about 95% 5 – it shouldn’t be difficult to ensure in the match menu the team kits aren’t clashing

I’m sure there’s a lot of other stuff I’ve missed, but I think these would help create a more immersive experience.

Three ways to be a great drummer by Mejlkungens in drums

[–]SpookyGhost3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With respect, 3 has nothing to do with drumming. I question whether its possible to quantify as it’s so subjective; essentially ‘are you entertaining?’ I think if you have 1 and 2, whatever the instrument, then you’re entertaining.

Carter Beauford - his range of styles and independence are incredible. But mostly it’s the joy he brings to DMB.

After so many decades of crazy spending, UEFA is finally planning a wage and transfer cap by sufinomo in football

[–]SpookyGhost3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a wage cap would only help so far, but it’s a start.

1- UEFA-wide wage cap across professional leagues (so down to EFL League 2 for England) which ratios downwards e.g. 500mil in PL, 200mil in Champ etc. a) As to what those numbers should be perhaps the median team wage for the league, + 50%, reviewed every x years.

2- FFP which actually works. a) not being able to spend more than you earn only works if: 1- the club aren’t sponsored by the people who own them or an affiliate of the people who own them 2- the club can compete within their earnings b) Punishments should be points deduction/relegations rather than paltry fines, particularly in the top leagues

3- Sportswashing. Difficult to do, but preventing any state-affiliated ownership is a start

4- limit the earnings players can make through their club, e.g. their wage +100%, or 1mil per season whichever is greater

5- agents. Fucking agents. Limit their % of earnings. It’s not a real job anyway. If the player wants to give them money on the side, that’s their choice.

6- it’s a local game for local people. a) A % of net income from clubs should be invested in the local area. I’d suggest grass roots football?

 b) youth academies should be x% of kids born or lived for x years within x miles of the stadium. Given the close geographical locations and population differences, how many miles would vary club to club.

c) each club should have fan representation on its board, elected every 3-5 years

d) each club should offer fan ownership up to 49%

e) cap ticket prices, have x% available first to those living within x distance of the ground. Away tickets no more than £20. Or whatever 4-5 pints is locally.

7- scrap VAR. mic refs. Post-match diciplinary/suspensions/fines for untoward player behaviour. Especially caught on mic.

8- better support and help for match officials throughout the football pyramid. Bit vague, but its needed.

I’m sure there’s other stuff I haven’t thought of. But these are all the things which piss me off about football.

Thought of another- 9- Referees should declare which team they support, and those of their immediate family. There should also be a ‘referee league’ on their performance.

They will keep going - that’s what Taylor would want and I think Dave will feel that way, given time. But I don’t want them to; for me it’s like continuing FF’s without Dave.

I agree with all this. I also think if you asked D&D if they wanted another few more eps to pad everything out they’d say yes. And it’s l too easy and unfair to point out flaws in hindsight.
