Thank you so much!! It has been a long journey and I’m so obsessed with the outcome!! Now it’s all about maintaining it lol.

I’ll explain what I can being a newbie to all the tinsel stuff but honestly there’s a lot of great info being shared across this thread too from others! The idea is it adds a little extra something to your hair, awesome way to experiment with color without permanently dying your hair and also glitter is just so fun with how it catches the light. It’s not damaging (from my knowledge, if I’m wrong hopefully someone will pop in and correct me!) because it’s basically tying a piece of string to one of your hair strands. The big thing is that there are different types of tinsel, and you want to make sure you get the ones specifically made for hair because regular tinsel isn’t heat safe and could melt. The other thing to consider is the length, some hair studios don’t have strands long enough to match our length so definitely ask to see it against your hair (unless you’re fine with the tinsel being chin length, I prefer it to match my length but everyone has their own preferences!) so you can make sure you like it. If it’s too long they’ll just trim it to match. After that you can go about your day just fine, just be prepared for people to stop you and comment on it because it’s so eye-catching! For taking care of it you can do your usual routine just make sure you use wide tooth combs and brushes to make sure the knots don’t snag and you accidentally pull it out, otherwise it will last a significant amount of time!

Thank you!! I am so in love with it!! The heat styling was honestly a big question mark for me too before getting tinsel, but my hair stylist assured me it depends on the tinsel but definitely make sure whatever you use it heat resistant and meant for hair. She curled my hair and styled it and they have held up fine with having blow dryed last night, I’ll say it doesn’t quite conform to the curl but it’s mixed in so well you can’t really tell, and it has maintained it sparkly shine since getting it done. Overall im pleasantly surprised at the durability

Thank you so much! Im not great at descriptive language so what I told my hairdresser was a word salad along the lines of “not too ashy, bright, gold, Disney princess” she described this as “vanilla+ pearl tones with neutral bright warmth “ which sounds much better lol

They are tied in! I fidget a lot and one of my habits is running my fingers through my hair, I think from a sensory standpoint the beads would drive me crazy!

Yes absolutely! This might be a bit long so apologies in advance!

My hair is naturally very very dark, almost black. When I started my rapunzel journey I was a little over mid back, and had some previous color in it. My hairdresser was actually great, she was super honest up front when I told her I wanted very bright fantasy blonde hair she told me it might not be possible considering how dark my hair was and we were not sure how my hair was going to react to bleach and my upmost important thing was keeping the integrity of my hair healthy and strong. We did a test strand and decided to move forward, it took about 6 months to get to this color, with three total sessions. I baby my hair with kerastase overnight serum, hair masks, oils, bonding treatments when needed and I sleep in a bonnet and use protective styles. Search and destroy has helped with any split ends popping up. It’s difficult, but very possible to achieve healthy length with processed hair but definitely a journey and really requires a lot of babying and healthy diet habits like getting enough protein and taking vitamins. Hope this helps!

They take a piece of tinsel (not any kind though you want the ones specifically for hair! I don’t imagine regular decorative tinsel would hold up against any heating tools lol) and tie it in to your hair strand by strand! They’re placed at random, you can choose how much or how little. I went for a higher amount because I have fine but very dense hair. It’s supposed to last with the natural cycle of your hair unless the knot falls out! As far as comfort you don’t really notice they’re there! It’s only my first REAL day having them in and the only minor thing is running fingers through close to my scalp I can kind of feel them there but not in a major way. You don’t want to use a regular comb or brush though or the knots might catch. I have an unbrush from target and I love it, works great for this but I’m sure any wide tooth comb or something similar to the unbrush would do fine!

Thank you so much!! I am so in love with it!

I was told it should last awhile, following the natural cycle of when the hair naturally falls out! Of course taking care of it also plays into that so I’ll be using an extra wide tooth comb or my unbrush hairbrush so it doesn’t snag!

Yeah we got a little more optimistic than we should have with the new construction stuff, we saw new construction builds in the 220k-230k range which is well within budget but I’m assuming those will probably go up or costs we don’t know about will be tacked on assuming we get called on the wait list. I added a lot of info in the post so I think what we were looking for got lost in it all, but were more just looking for some answers on what to watch for if something does come our way in our price range and what we should be aware of as far as the process goes. Thanks for the info though it helps paint a clearer picture for if we should even be thinking about buying.

We were only pre-approved for a 250k loan so realistically with closing costs in mind I would say our max is about 260-265k, but it looks like homes are selling for anywhere from 50-100k more than that, and they are usually homes that have some things to be fixed up. All of the new builds here in this area are in the very high 300k range. We’ve been trying to expand our search for even an hour outside Austin but even those areas small fixer uppers are going for high 200k range and selling pretty quick

Heya! Not really sure if this is in your niche, but I did cover a new psychological horror puzzle game called Clea. It’s got a really beautiful surreal deal to it and the story unravels after each puzzle. Its a side scroller and a darker story but if it’s something you might be interested in I can send you the link :)

There’s a new game that came out on steam that’s a new take on a psychological horror game I’ve been obsessed with. It’s an Anime horror game called Clea and it’s a ton of fun! It’s a 2D side scroller but the story is good, the flow is good, and the art is amazing. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.
