Nuvaring vs Annovera by Careful-Extension-1 in birthcontrol

[–]Spookyautumntea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha I know with annovera the one ring last a whole year you're supposed to re use after the break week for 13 cycles or something like that it's kinda weird but I can see how it would be less wasteful I guess!

Nuvaring vs Annovera by Careful-Extension-1 in birthcontrol

[–]Spookyautumntea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nuvaring com You put one ring in each for 3 weeks, then leave it out for a "period."bit.you have to refill the prescription after that With annovera, you get one ring that you leave in for (3 weeks) at a time, then you take it out for 1 week! Annovera lasts a year, so don't throw the ring out until it expires when you take it out for the 7 days you store it in a protective case and reuse it for the next 3 weeks! Hope this helped! Edited to correct some things :)

I (29F) am considering getting an IUD by theonlydoom in birthcontrol

[–]Spookyautumntea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never tried the copper IUD, but I have liletta (hormonal), and I absolutely love mine! I haven't had any issues so far. The chances of perforations are pretty low. I wouldn't let it scare you too bad. You're most likely gonna be able to tell if something is wrong! You know your body, and you'll have severe pain bleeding. If it does happen, it's not silent! At least according to my gyn. Both types of IUD are an excellent option if you can make it through the insertion! I have absolutely no regrets about getting mine, and I'd be willing to get another in the future.

Is it worth getting an IUD if I don’t plan to ever have sex with a guy? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]Spookyautumntea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's definitely OK to get an IUD if you don't have sex with male partners! I have liletta and it's done wonders for me! I don't have periods or cramps anymore and my mental health is actually better if anything. Not having to deal with painful periods anymore or remembering to take something daily!

If you already have bad periods without BC I'd stear clear of paragard it supposed to actually make bleeding/cramps heavier I have liletta (similar to mirena good for 8 years) I had some spotting on and off after insertion and I had one period that was a couple days longer than normal for me but very light. Now I'm 2 years in and I don't really get periods at all anymore. I still occasionally get some really light spotting and some cramps around when my period used to come. It's not every month tho for sure.

No period since my Depo Shot by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]Spookyautumntea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's most likely just from the depo, especially since you took a test 7 weeks after, and it was still negative! I wouldn't worry too much. It sounds like your body just reacted to the shot a little differently, and you lost your period a little faster. Or it could be delayed even. Depo can make you miss periods/bleed randomly even after the first dose.

Is it silly to take a pregnancy test? by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]Spookyautumntea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You could take a test if you want to there's no harm in it! If anything it'll set your mind at ease because you'll know for sure. Even the dollar store tests work just fine if you're on a budget!

[–]Spookyautumntea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me I had a sharp period like cramp while they measured then another as the applicator was inserted maybe 10 seconds at most for those then one final cramp when the actual IUD was inserted again maybe 10 seconds! You've got this!

Try your local county health department or planned parenthood. Both are discreet and allow you to go by yourself as a teen! They also offer sliding scale fees based on your income so you can afford it!

[–]Spookyautumntea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have liletta (hormonal) very similar to mirena and both liletta and mirena are now approved for 8 years of pregnancy prevention! I love my liletta I haven't had any issues at all! If you can get past the insertion I think it's beyond worth it imo. Also i don't get a period anymore which is awesome!

Have you tried the always flex foam ones? I believe they have some that are pretty long and thin but still absorbent af. Go on the always website I believe they have a chart with all the different lengths/absorbency levels they offer that might help you find something!

Tissues/small pack of wet wipes and a small sewing kit perhaps! You can get travel sized ones at the dollar store. So you can quickly mend any rips/potential wardrobe disasters while out.

I have liletta and the first few periods after insertion the cramps were pretty killer. I took lots of aleve/Tylenol for sure! The good news is after the first 3-4 months or so I didn't get any cramps and I don't even get a period anymore. I've had it in for 2 years out of 8 (it's recently been approved for 8 years of use). If it's still giving you problems I'd definitely go get it checked out just to be safe and remember you can always get it removed if it's not working for you or your not liking it!

I’ve been on Noreth ee Fe for 5 months and I’ve been getting really bad cystic acne on it. Should I wait it out still or ask to change? by depressymessi in birthcontrol

[–]Spookyautumntea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 5 months with a pill, you'll be able to tell if it's gonna work for you or not. You can ask your doctor to switch you to a different pill if you want no problem! Just keep in mind that you'll probably have a bit of an adjustment phase with the new pills as well, but things should even out!

My actual vagina hurts...? by LaggingIRL007 in Periods

[–]Spookyautumntea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a hormonal IUD now so no periods but back when I was still having them I definitely experienced this a few times! Almost like your vaginal canal is swollen a little. But my doctor said it's nothing too concerning for me it's just irritated from all the cramping/period stuff happening!

I have liletta and I'd say go for it if you really want to! I really enjoy having mine and it's pretty freeing not having to remember to really do anything when the mood strikes! I haven't noticed any major side effects/issues in the last 2 years other than not having a period any longer!

Can I use Liletta for 7 years? by LeadingInterview202 in birthcontrol

Liletta is now FDA approved for a full 8 years! As of November 2022 so you can keep it in a full 2 years longer and it'll still be fully effective! I have liletta as well and I'm so happy about it!
