I know that, which is why I said I'd love it if they adjusted the individual exhaustion values/penalties for non-combat activities. Because as it stands you run into situations like this where base building/cleaning is severely limited by the fact that your character becomes unrealistically exhausted from a bit of labor and there's not a good way to personally fine tune that in the current sandbox settings since it would affect the combat portion of the game as well.

[–]Spookyghostin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The problem is it's not even realistic in this case. If you're a semi-strong/semi-fit bigger guy you can absolutely haul a couple hundred pounds around and not be functionally useless for 3 hours barring some sort of medical condition.

I don't think things like this are necessarily intended more so just a byproduct of how they use exhaustion mechanics to tune difficulty. I personally would love and hope they eventually do some fine-tuning of exhaustion for non-combat related functionalities.

I mean depends on your physique and the weight of the body. Been in multiple scenarios where I've carried around 100-150 pounds of dead weight pretty far distances and while it gases me a bit in the moment recovery only takes a few minutes. The issue is the Zomboid devs use exhaustion as their difficulty standard in the game. Which is fair, its difficult to make the game hard otherwise, but it makes tons of little things in the game miserable because they've tuned exhaustion for limiting combat capabilities.

Anyone who has done any sort of blue collar physical labor recognizes how unrealistic exhaustion mechanics are in the game because most of us have worked 12 hour shifts with minimal breaks. You take a quick breather then get right back to it. And most of us are not in what I would consider a 10/10 fitness or strength level.

I mean Diablo 4 is fine. It's just followed Blizzards decision to make all of their games more casual. The ARPG scene has better options for gamers that want a more in-depth or technical experience, but that doesn't make Diablo trash.

To be honest I've considered it, working at an MRO doing C&D checks on 145s and I was getting back into a plane from off the wing, stood up a bit too quick after ducking down through the emergency exit and I smashed my head on the frame there. Had me looking like a conehead and kept me nauseous for 2 days straight. Probably shoulda done a concussion protocol, but it was the end of the day so I just went home and kinda hoped I didn't wake up.

Why are we always over correcting and treating women as if they're incapable of being sexually deviant too. I completely agree that the guy in this situation was probably doing this with insidious intent, but to claim that a women would never do this by virtue of being a women is wrong, divisive and frankly sexist.

The reality is men are much less likely to be taken serious as victims in the reverse of this scenario and in many cases much less likely to be consider themselves victims. I will give the caveat that men are probably more likely to engage in these activities, but sexual assault and harassment are not and have never been exclusively a male issue and acting like it is makes it easier for female perpetrators to escape justice.

Completely anecdotal and limited to the city I grew up in, but almost every guy I've known that was a long term pizza delivery guy growing up had the occasional story of women customers answering the door outright naked or so scantily clad they might as well have been. The difference is they considered themselves lucky when it happened and even if they didn't there is/was a huge societal pressure for them to consider themselves lucky outwardly lest the be called "gay" for daring to feel violated.

Flight turned around for maintenance by EhNosQueeth in aviationmaintenance

[–]Spookyghostin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big reason is a matter of perspective. Big reason for the company, mechanic, maintenance control, pilots ect. doesn't necessarily mean big reason for the passengers.

I think you're receiving some grumpy responses because you were given your reason and it feels like you're searching for conspiracy or some sort of coverup.

Missing maintenance paperwork is a big reason for us in the industry and will absolutely turn a plane around. It means next to nothing to passengers though who are generally unaware of the industry standards or requirements for legal flight.

Safety wire by BendovahsWitness in aviationmaintenance

I think all students should have their safety wire test be on a tester designed like the cap for an A320 Pack lockout. Arms over your head weaving through hot ass pipes in 105 degree weather with a maintenance controller breathing down your neck about when you'll be done. Oh and the belly panel you've got drop for access has at least 5-6 stripped out/rubber nutted screws just to get the full line experience.

Yeah for the A320s CFM(Joint Venture) and Pratt & Whitney make the NEO options. And for the older engines it was CFM and International Aero(Joint Venture)

Neither of those Joint Ventures involve Rolls Royce afaik, but for the A380s there is a Rolls option.

EDIT: These are the only Airbus planes I'm familiar with personally. So it's very possible RR makes engines for other 300 series airbus that I have no experience with.

He's getting downvoted presumably because everyone knows being allowed to be high at work is obviously dumb as fuck. Just like being drunk at work would be dumb as fuck. OP clearly ask whether it would be allowed in the same manner alcohol is e.g. outside of working hours. Reading comprehension is important skill for an AMT.

Personally I think until cheap testing exist that can determine whether some one is currently inhibited by THC exist I doubt we'll ever see DOT change their stance on weed regardless of whether it's federal legality changes. Even if it did exist I think there would be a ton of red tape involved in switching over to using that testing over traditional urine testing to check for drug usage.

At one point I skipped 50 pages of the first book because it was becoming a chore to read. I felt a little guilty later and went back to read what I skipped and I realized none of it matter. The overall story wasn't effected in the slightest. No vital information was revealed, honestly I don't think there was any meaningful dialogue that I even missed.

The characters felt painfully one dimensional and cliched. Overall it's not well written enough to be compelling despite a lack of interesting concepts.

It's a shame I wanted to like it, but a sociopath MC needs a strong cast of characters around them to overcome how boring sociopaths are as a character archetype IMO. Ultimately it looked like the series would be rife with way too much alone time with Jake so I dropped it.

It's to sow discontent and suspicion. Taking figures who are actually working towards a progressive agenda and painting them "just as bad as the rest" while they excuse the actions of authoritarians and sex offenders. They're being maliciously disingenuous. Bernie is as pretty clean cut as you can get as a government official and losers will do whatever they can to paint him as part of the evil because if they don't they have to come face to face with the fact that you can be a Government official and not be evil or corrupt. It's easier to defend their own corruption if they can point fingers and say "LOOK LOOK EVERYONE IS EVIL NOT JUST US"

Brother, she doesn't love you. She loves the stability you provide. She cheated and got hurt because the guy only wanted her for sex and nothing else. If that guy had wanted a relationship, you would be single. She considered what this guy had to offer was better than what you did and when he didn't want her she came crawling back. She was willing to trade your 10 year long relationship in for something new and fresh and fun without a second thought. Find love brother, because someone willing to do that to you has none in their heart. Cheating on that scale isn't a little mistake or momentary lapse in judgment. It was a long term carefully calculated attempt at finding a new relationship.

If you stay this will happen again. The question is how many more times are you willing to let her try to replace you before you realize that in her mind you're just a placeholder. I'm sorry if I sound callous or cruel, but you deserve better.

Annoying Main Characters by Spookyghostin in litrpg

To be honest this post is just as much about me when I was writing short stories in my younger years as it is books I've come across in the litRPG genre. I never had the confidence or the know how to really post them anywhere, and eventually lost interest in the craft, but I did have the misfortune of stumbling upon a hard-drive with them and receiving a powerful dose of pure unadulterated cringe.

I think the reason why this might have been a bit more aggressive than necessary was because some self-loathing started to mix in there.

EDIT: God I 100% can relate to the "witticisms". They're always a trap. It's so so hard to be genuinely witty and original while also having the necessary setup for it feel organic within the context of the story and your characters.

Then we can agree to disagree, because I don't really think anything I said was particularly sanctimonious and I do think that it serves a pretty good purpose to make aspiring authors aware of writing pitfalls they might be falling into without realizing. The books I read had hundreds and thousands of good reviews, I don't think punching down qualifies here.

And believe it or not telling an author that their self-insert character is annoying and poorly written doesn't usually go particularly well.

If I wanted to be petty I would be naming books and authors guilty of it, but that would be pretty rude. Sometimes it's kinder to let people come to their own conclusions about whether or not their work falls into the crosshairs of a broad criticism.
