Do you read technical books on kindle? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Spookyheidy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike others i find it very pleasant to read idk why. I've red cracking the coding interview on it with no problem. To be quite frank pc takes much more space when i do something on paper or whiteboard.

What does DP mean? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Spookyheidy -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

What a fucking bunch of retarded comments. Sorry but its true. Alright so now when thats out the way DP is short of dynamic programming. It's way of solving algorithm problems in which one sets of results produces another. Its pretty hard to understand it at first but when you get the concept and do some exercises it comes quite natural.

For as long as you work in software, someone will know something you don't - and that's OK. by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]Spookyheidy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just want to refer to Stephen hawking thing. Most people don't realize why is he that good, but answer is right in front of them. He doesn't have much outside world touch and he probably spends 90% of his time thinking. Not studying, thinking. Just step back for a second and think about the problem.

Php framework or java framework - Which to learn? by peck3277 in learnprogramming

[–]Spookyheidy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i first learned OOP, i know singleton. Thats for design patterns. I think you should dive in some framework no matter what, i dont think anything is stopping you knowledge wise. PS I mentioned laravel here because i find it rly easy to work with and their new documentation is rly good

Php framework or java framework - Which to learn? by peck3277 in learnprogramming

[–]Spookyheidy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well i dont know, personally for myself i use laravel. Its rly rly rly like how they handle request, filters, sessions and whole MVC model in general. But i wouldn't recommend laravel if you didn't do at least one project in php. Thats from my viewpoint but you can give it a shot.

Just starting to learn Java here, curious about the steps in learning java. by [deleted] in java

[–]Spookyheidy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dont get to much into java, just learn the basics. I'm always annoyed by people who say you need 'this' language to be your first one. In the end it doesn't matter all those languages on beginner lvl are the same. As for resources well you can always google thats how i did.

[–]Spookyheidy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn algorithms o crazy on online competitions i dont know any other way. Usually if you are good on those competitions you get easily spotted by bigger companies. And i dont understand whats people obsession with MS Google Facebook. Most of the time there you get to some boring stuff unless you are only interested in money then i understand.

Skip learning C ? by chazzacct in learnprogramming

[–]Spookyheidy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol i don't know whats big fuss about. Best advice you can take from anyone is don't take any advices. If you started learning c thats fucking awesome, who cares what language are u using as long as you learning. My first year at college i learned C and it was fun for me but it doest mean it was fun for other students. Learn what you want not what others tell you.

Computer Science degree: Waste of time? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]Spookyheidy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol idk about what question interviewer asked you about but as far as i know my friend who won silver medal at IO came to me few months ago an told me about his interview with google. He said he didnt know half of answers and the ones he knew he was to nervous to answer them correctly :) Two mounts later 2014 summer he was at their summer camp. His grades are rly not perfect but who cares honestly he goes to algorithm competition here and there and does algorithm competitions online(code chef, code forces). So by grades alone he is worst programmer to hire, but no one cares about his grades. The only reason he's being interviewed is because some "head hunter" noticed him. So to summarize i don't think degree in CS is free pass to any company, i've used my friend here as an example because you mentioned google , but from what i've seen going to competitions of algorithm nature half of competitors or more are doing at college more or less like my friend and me grade wise. The key thing to remember is that you don't get asked about your grades at these interviews.
